Birds is the musical project of UK born, Netherlands based DJ Katie Wilkinson. Her music is melting pot of techno, 90s acid, electro and 80’s EBM and New Wave, with her more recently material also incorporating more bass heavy sounds. She has released on labels such as Höga Nord, Ombra International, NEIN, Freeride Millennium, Hard Fist and Samo Records before founding her own label Feed The Void, a label which aims to showcase her eclectic tastes. She has also received a lot of love for for her captivating live sets.

As a DJ, as well as through her music she exercises a never ending desire to explore sonic possibility and switch up genres continuously. Her sets reflect these curiosities and have an extremely transcendent nature to them; you never know whether you'll find yourself dancing to churning low tempo industrial techno, high tempo acid bass lines, Italo, experimental breaks or something far and between these things. Nothing is too weird or intense for a Birds DJ set. She has a monthly radio show on Netil Radio which is a residency that she's had for the past five years. Jamie releases music on [Emotional] Especial, Hoga Nord, Multi Culti and ESP Institute, having previously released on DFA, Dissident and The Walls Have Ears. He is also one half of Cage & Aviary, who have released several 12s and remixes, including Television Train on DFA, plus their album 'Migration' in 2012, released on Prins Thomas’ Internasjonal label.

He released the 'Bizarre Feeling' EP on Emotional Especial in late 2013. People liked it a lot; DJs played it, Tom Ravenscroft featured it on BBC 6 Music, DJ Magazine gave it single of the month. Someone paid €50 for a copy of it on white label. His remix of 'Sofa Love' by Maurice & Charles opened the Fabriclive Mix by Erol Alkan. He also mixed and dubbed-out the Emotional Especial compilation, celebrating the first 9 releases on the label.

He has his own monthly show on Noods called Syrens, which takes place in the sweaty basement of his mind, and also co-hosts the Methods of Dance radio show bi-monthly with his brother Chris, squeezing every ounce of cosmic sludge from the leftfield end of the dancefloor.

His dj sets will usually join the dots from early EBM, Synthwave and New Beat through to the more interesting end of contemporary House, Techno and Bass, but other diversions are entirely probable.
