😻 ¡Qué bonita versión de "Killing me softly"! ¿En qué idioma canta? ¿Griego?

Synth and drummy post-punk by two annoying people—not my quote—from, I don't know, Berlin? Yes, this bedroom project shows high aspirations of conceptual nihilism in a rudimentary collage way. The album title is a doozy—stoner humor. First you hear a helicopter, then a drumbeat, and a great use of spatial placement. The lyrics are about something too political and philosophical to expound upon here, but worth a listen.

This session is an absolute bloody riot, with a selection that is very diverse and so creatively worked in the mix 'n' blend. This is the only mix Avenue Red will ever feature that contains a Barbie sample... deal with it - we had to (it works, you'll see). It's just lots and lots of fun this one! Read on.

"Heyo, so I'm really bad at writing text in general. But I can send some links (see below). I run the label Nonyobiz Records. My old alias was Hypno. Recently I have been working on releases on Iceland labels Móatún 7 and Intellitronic Bubble under various guises. But essentially I have been producing music for about 15-20 years, almost exclusively in Ableton Live and various hardware. Most recently I have been digging my heels into the modular world. My current techno alias/project is Hidden People for the pure techno side of things. DJ Allskynz is for the rest like breakbeat, ambient, house etc.

I really appreciate Avenue Red putting the mix on since I really don't work a lot on the PR side of things (and I should lol!). Again, appreciated. It was a fun time making this mix. Ryan Doherty is a Scottish producer, Glasgow born and bred, now based in Hong Kong. Cortecx has slowly but surely worked on evolving his techniques and process for several years now and has sculpted a unique take on all things rhythmic based along the way.

If you are familiar with our "Turadh" compilation from last year then you may be aware of his phenomenal track, "Reflections".

The "Above The Clouds" EP takes things up a notch. Cerebral techno that pulls you in to another dimension. We start things off with a bubbly and edgeless ambient soundscape that gently sinks its way into your consciousness. After that we enter the darker side of Cortecx with two shadowy and dynamic tracks that bring his relentless and powerful percussive elements to the forefront. The weighty rhythms propel both tracks skyward in a meticulous manner while the mysterious layers of sound design add an extra enigmatic elements to the already hypnotic mood that glimmers throughout.

Cortecx closes out proceedings with the astonishing "Plasma". An epic journey that best encapsulates his talents for mixing atmospherics and tempo. A sonic excursion of thumping kicks that come shrouded in emotive tones and crystalline pads. A mesmerizing ending to a stellar debut release.
