From time to time something takes you by surprise. In this case it was a coincidental email which landed amidst the chaos at just the right time.

 Fourmï Rouz originates from the island of Mauritius, a place which you might not usually associate with electronic music in a stereotypical sense. In some ways you might be accurate in this view, however, that certainly doesn't mean that there aren't artists intertwining local influences and electronic sounds. This mix is a representation of the diversity which exists amongst electronic music culture as Fourmï Rouz blends traditional elements alongside a forward thinking fusion of blends.

Endlich kommen die Menschen wieder aus ihren Häusern und erfreuen sich an der Natur und an den schönen Künsten, allem voran an der Musik.   Diesen wunderbaren Moment des Jahres hat bereits ein Altmeister der Dichtkunst so treffend beschrieben, dass wir an dieser Stelle seine Worte wiedergeben wollen, um unseren Gedanken Ausdruck zu verleihen.

Delusion of Persecution

In a completely different way than anything I had written before, this song simply came to me in a dark night. Like a little bird to its nest, it flew directly into my heart. It’s about looking inward, something we’ve all been more or less forced to do lately. Reviewing our transformation so far, sifting through what we need to keep and nurture and what we will have to discard even though it might scare us. Musically it goes back to my roots of pop and jazz, which mirrors perfectly how much it reminds me of things inside of me that I had almost forgotten about. There’s never been a time in my life when the world was so still. And oh how much we’ve needed to be still. To have no choice but to tend to our wounds, to learn from them and remember that we are dreamers at heart, full of hope and possibilities. May it soothe and uplift you.

What's up, folks? Here's the set I did at daosyndikat's 24hr livestream "Couch deines Gewissens: 24h unterfordert" on 12022021. We collected donations for Partners In Health, an amazing cause. 

I love livestreams for offering the chance to play around, build up, break down, and crash through a conceptual wall here and there. In my opinion, there's no need to go THAT progressive all the time, and it offers a DJ more freedom how, what, and when to play and mix something, without losing momentum. Hope I managed to cover that in this set, happy to hear your thoughts :)
