Cosmic Boys of Montpellier, France are rapidly infiltrating the French techno scene and have seeped into North American territory with this new EP titled “I Don’t Care.” Their debut EP on refused. features infectious grooves, modulated vocals, deep basslines, and crisp percussions. “Origin” features pronounced hi-hats, a dark, groovy bassline, thunderous claps, and manipulated satanic vocals. Title track “I Don’t Care” grows on a deep, down-tempo bassline, and a filtered kick. Spacey effects and ominous chopped up vocals give the track density and mind-blowing energy. “Together” kicks the energy back into high gear as a strongly pronounced kick leads us into the last original track of the EP. Winding synths, and reverberated claps give this track motion. The EP also features a dark, rolling techno remix of “I Don’t Care” from Russian producer Ricky Ebner.

Elevate is a label run by Techno mainstays Pig&Dan who are an international DJ and production duo, who along with releases on Elevate are a regular feature on labels including Drumcode, Cocoon, Bedrock and Terminal M.  Finishing off 2016 with a look to the future, the label owners have compiled a special 21 track release titled ‘Next Generation’.

Handpicked by Pig&Dan themselves the new Elevate release is very much a family gathering, where Elevate favourites like Mark Reeve, Aitor Ronda, Rob Hes and Carlo Ruetz get to meet and interact with artists like Etai Tarazi, Fideles and Sezer Uysal who are making their debut appearance on the label.

Carlo Ruetz makes his debut on Oliver Huntemann's Senso Sounds with The Trick EP - further evidence of his increasing mastery of tough, thrilling Techno. The Rostock born DJ and producer found a wider audience in 2013 after receiving support from Richie Hawtin and subsequently releasing on MINUS - and here he flexes his production muscles once again.
'Trick' is an acidic tinged banger - a ferocious dancefloor workout for prime time whatever the location. 'Artefact' is another example of Ruetz’s control over dynamics - the track containing
several moments of high intensity that raises the temperature, yet maintaining a spacey, minimal vibe. 'Divided Universe' is another hard-hitter - a driving rhythm accompanied by laser-like melodic
flourishes and menacing atmospheres. 'Resoflash' keeps up the releases’ tough and funky vibe - a killer rolling bassline and firing percussion deliver the heat.

US producer SHADED brings his signature vibe to the Senso imprint, and seems to instantly fit right in. The two track release gives the Californian born-and-raised artist the opportunity to share his slightly twisted take on techno with a new audience, and he does not disappoint. First up is 'Rippple' - a tough and muscular technoid workout with biting claps, shuffling percussion and a wonky bassline. It’s tight as a drum production wise, but gives off an unhinged atmosphere from start to finish. Similarly the second track 'Sumbody' manages the same feat. The rising and falling arpeggiated synth line, moving in and out of the mix brings a disorienting presence, underpinned by a driving, pulsating rhythm track. This is techno at its most celebratory.

Italian techno imprint Unrilis returns with a brand new single from the heavyweight pairing of Markantonio and Roberto Capuano, featuring two sterling remixes from Luigi Madonna..Rino Cerrones Rilis and Unrilis labels have been a staple of the techno landscape for over a decade now, releasing searing, floorfilling music from Cerrone and some of the scenes leading lights. Now Unrilis looks again to techno heavyweight Markantonio for its latest single, a single that sees the Neapolitan DJ/producer team up with young production talent Roberto Capuano who has already had such success on labels such as Analytic Trail & Driving Forces.This new EP opens with Pearl a superbly hypnotic, pulsing techno workout that fuses rumbling bass tones with skittering percussion to create the base for the intense synth stabs that rise from the mix, quality stuff.
