After the release of his critically acclaimed debut album last year, Regal is back on his own imprint Involve Records with reworks of two timeless, legendary techno anthems along with the remasters of the originals: Acid War by D.O.M. and Benozal by UMEK.

Regal’s rework of the techno classic Acid War by D.O.M. gives the original a twist and perfectly lives up to its name with an anthem-like acid line that blows of the roofs of warehouses it can be played at. Up next is a remake of UMEK’s Benozal - a groovy and hypnotic banger perfect for sweaty bunkers. Stay Up Forever hit Acid War opens the back side, an ageless Acid classic from 1994 celebrating its 28th birthday this year. Closing the EP is the remaster Benozal, the B-side of UMEK’s third Primate Recordings EP, a trippy techno jewel from 2001.

Regal is back on his imprint Involve Records with a rework of a US-American electro classic from 2007, including a re-release of the original tune which first appeared on Chicago-based label Mathematics Recordings. 

Monsieur Black’s hit ‘No Love’ gets a driving Techno twist by Regal, accompanied by rolling percussions, a catchy melody and emphasizing the story of a broken, toxic love. The original mix by Monsieur Black is a ageless more stripped-down version with typical US-electro and mid 2000’s minimal elements, taking the listeners on an ethereal futuristic journey.

Involve Records starts the new year with the 3rd edition of the acclaimed Nightclub Pros series, which previously featured the likes of legends such as Maxx Rossi and DJ Ogi besides young talents like Fractions and Chlär, always keeping the balance between old-school and contemporary Techno.

Label owner Regal opens the VA with a trippy tool, reminiscent of his early basement weapons but with a warehouse-ambience. 'Undisputed' gets straight to the point without hesitation and keeps the pace high. DJ Emerson follows up with 'XTC', a rumbling cut for peak time club moments with flashing strobe-lights, giving the Van Halen classic an ecstatic Techno twist. On the flip side, Tensal from the Spanish legendary duo Exium takes a deep dive into futuristic worlds in 'Metaverse', where a brew of chopped vocals accompanies the rolling drums throughout the whole track. Up-and-coming DJ and producer _asstnt from Madrid closes the EP with 'La Línea‘, an 8-min epic march characterized by a catchy guitar riff and groovy percussion, alternating to a vocal insisting on following the line of life.

The first single The Final Chapter is a hard-hitting Acid Techno mayhem, characterized by an iconic 303 melody developing throught the track that brings the whole room to shake. This album is a clever balance between past and present, the old and new Regal aka ACIDBOY, emphasising his introverted artistic side, a lover of music and production as well as a story intended for a patient and cultured listener. 

The album defies superficial musical trends, offering a profound sonic experience that invites listeners on a deeper journey, far removed from the quick-hit tracks designed for social media. The name of this album and Regals previous EP The Last Summer certainly leaves room for interpretation as these might sound like signs of a farewell to the music scene.
