Recorded in the south of France at Bagnols-sur-Cèze on the 24th July 2013 at Garance Reggae Festival 2013. Was a super hot day... and session! Hope you enjoy the vibes, some happy memories from this.

Recorded on an Edirol R-09 with the built in mic at a static location, so the sound level is not equal from all sounds. I've applied some compression to try and make up for this.

Explosion Sound System, Northern Ireland’s heavyweight Dub Kings, are a Belfast-based collective who have been promoting reggae and dub alongside sound system culture for nearly 20 years.

The crew represent a mix of both classic and upfront modern reggae, roots and dub in a conscious style.

'This mix was recorded in our studio in Belfast on a cold afternoon.
A few of the crew got together and selected some of our favourite songs that we have been listening to lately. We set up the sirens and FX, locked the door, lit the fire and ran the tape...'

Channel One sound system  @  Notting Hill Carnaval 2017 (extrait)

6FtSTIX aka STIX of Rise & Shine Rockers and Majestic Roots Sound System was formally introduced to sound system culture back in 2011. Experiencing Aba-Shanti-I at the junction of Southern & East Row, W10, London ignited the fire. From there the education, research and record collecting began. 

After moving back to his hometown of Tauranga, Bay of Plenty he and Amelio-B formed Rise & Shine Rockers in 2016. The crew played sessions every now and then until the summer of 2019 - 2020, when the pace was picked up with a busy summer and gigs across the Bay of Plenty. Over this summer period he was also welcomed into the Majestic Roots crew with Mikey Majestic.

Stix says, ‘For this mix I’ve taken a selection of my favourite tunes that I’ve played out over the summer. It’s a very approachable selection with out trying to go deep and obscure. These songs always brought the vibes particularly at the Voodoo Lounge 'At The Dub Market' sessions in Mt Maunganui. Big up NiceUp Aotearoa for the opportunity to present a mix.’

Reggae Roast, one of the UKs leading Reggae Soundsystems & party starters, have forged a reputation as the leading light in the resurgence of the British Reggae, putting on some of the best parties and festival stages across the country.
