KEIDA - STAND FOR SOMETHING

Ishmel Mcanuff (aka: Little Lion, Little Dragon, Trouble Double, et Kenniyata, Ishmael, Ishmel, and Macklaw) was born July 27, 1984 in Kingston Jamaica. Ishmel is the son of reggae great Winston Mcanuff and Viviene Johnson. Coming from a musical family Ishmel was on stage from an early age during Reggae Sunsplash 1987 at 2 ½ years old while his dad was performing.
Ishmel Mcanuff  has his own naturally inspired style, and is a charismatic performer that is sometimes compared to Sizzla, Capleton, and Jah Mason. Rootstime production is honored to have Ishmel Mcanuff be a part of the iDrop Riddim (aka Rootstime Riddim): Various Reggae Artists album. His tune, "Time a Get Tough" carries the strength and wisdom in lyrical advice from his mother, as well as a custom lead melody guitar that is unique to his track on the project; with the guitar highlighting Ishmel's emotional delivery and lyrical content, making it a standout on the album.

 Today June 2nd is the official release of reggae/dancehall recording artiste Keida's debut EP Ebb and Flow. The compilation is available on iTunes. The fitting title Ebb and Flow is symbolic of the rhythms of life, a seven
track compilation which embodies the essence of growth and change as inevitable outcomes of the ups and downs ... the coming and goings of life. “Ebb and Flow" is an EP for the youths that I interact with daily ,
both in my family and in yours”. A graduated level of lyrical content is notable throughout the Ep's track compilation introducing the audience to a more conscious side of the artist they may not have seen in her earlier work.
  Opening with her Rory Stonelove produced hit "Ganja Tea", Keida invites
people to use their “meds” and their in a positive way. Ganja Tea, the
classic roots reggae record is followed by "Mad World" the soulful and inspirational piece produced by Royal
Order Music. It urges us to take more responsibility for the realities of the world and be more proactive our contributions; highlighting that there are too many people
who are displeased with the way the society is running for us not to make a
conscious step for a positive change in this mad world. On her U.I.M Records
produced single entitled "One Love", Keida helps her listeners to realize
the importance of one pure love as the nucleus which will stimulate a
positive chain reaction in our consciousness and our interpersonal
relations. "One Love" is introduced by the Great Russell Bell, Math genius
and youth empowerment advocate whose wise words have helped shape the lives
of many. "Russell Bell was the first to call me Keida Rankin, way before music entered my reality. He empowered me by encouraging me to embrace my visual way of thinking and that's something I apply in all areas of my life." The blazing, amped up dancehall track “Hot Ash", also produced by
U.I.M, showcases her versatility and highlights a hard edged up-tempo sound.
On the follow up track "M-16" produced byNatural High Music, Keida
deliberately reaches out to youths who are faced with the difficult choice
between destitution and crime as a means of survival. With the soothing melodies of Chalice's veteran musician Wayne Armond on back up vocals Keida has once again made a full circle back to her roots and the music she was introduced to by her father as a child. She closes out the
track by paying respect to the late Nicodemus, one of dancehall's greats
with her rendition of one of his famous verses. On her final song "Stand For
Something" produced by Royal Order Music, she is “telling every youth mi see
that the only sure way for growth is to stand for something”. The EP closes out with a dub
version of "Stand for Something" produced by Suns of Dub which includes Ras
Jammy, Jah Bami, and Addis Pablo (son of the late GreatAugustus Pablo).
 
  Stand for something or you gonna fall for anything. Rise up and wise up.
Keida and her team Great Whyte Entertainment have worked to ensure that Ebb
and Flow is sending a message that encourages all people to hold on to a
different way of thinking, to engage in positive actions and to take an
active part in shaping a new consciousness.

"I had a vision......When putting this project together I really wanted to focus on presenting myself to the world, not just as an Artist but Marla Brown herself.

I feel my whole being stems from love, faith (Most High) and unity, so it is truly important for me to communicate that through the music I create with these amazing artists and producers, so the connection can be made and received naturally between you and I, allowing yourselves to have an insight as to who I am and what I represent.

I also wanted this project to contain the ideas and concepts of life I feel needed integral attention - to liberate (others) and create a shared consciousness to encourage growth, empowerment and love (self and universal), thus the concept “Deliverance” being born.

Although Deliverance is my concept of my "coming" into the musical world, it is indeed one of my favourite songs off of my Dad’s album, titled "Visions" (Deliverance Will Come) which made everything just fall into place that this was my calling and my purpose being fulfilled just as my Dad had visioned. He always encouraged us to love, to smile and most importantly, to be at one with ourselves and our family.....I guess the time truly has come..."DELIVERANCE Has Come."

Several tracks from Warrior King's latest album, 'Tell Me How Mi Sound' have been receiving reasonable airplay locally.  The tracks,  "Melody" Stand Up in a di Fire" and "Empress" are of nineteen on the album, distributed by Tads Records.  A video for the single entitled 'Melody,' has been released across all cable/tv channels. 

Warrior King recently completed the first leg of his, "Sing Like an Angel" world tour where he performed at venues in New Orleans, Chicago, Texas, Arizona and Cleveland USA.  Due to special demand, Warrior King will return to the United States on the second leg before heading off to Europe.  The second leg, commences mid-June through September where he is expected to perform in Santa Cruz, Fair Fax, Orange County and Huntington Beach, California then on to Detroit and Michigan USA. In Europe, Warrior will be making appearances from July - September in Germany, Italy, France, Sweden, Holland and Belgium.

With the inclusion of the Mark Miller company and Roots Warrior Productions with responsibility for international affairs, Warrior King has now got time to rekindle with fans at home.  This is important to him and like every other artistes, being there, socializing and spending time with the people in the streets. Recently Warrior join Canadian Rapper J-Rich who is on the island promoting a single on the video shoot of the same song, both had collaborated.  The song entitled, "Love and Joy" attracted a small crowd of over one hundred persons who took the moment as an opportunity to reunite.  'Top' and 'Bottom' Greenvale community members in Mandeville came together after years of on going dispute.  This Love and Joy single is also getting some good rotation on several stations.

As Warrior King embark on other projects, he is looking forward to upcoming performances in French Guiana, Merida, Playa del Carmen, Mexico and Chetuma Belize during the month of May before his departure to complete the second leg of his World Tour.
