Milli Vanilli was a pop duo that skyrocketed to fame in the late 1980s with catchy tunes and charismatic performances. Fabrice Morvan and Rob Pilatus became global sensations, topping charts and winning awards. However, their success story took a devastating turn when it was revealed that they hadn't actually sung on their records.
They were dancers and made the music come to life, but the backlash was intense. 
The public felt betrayed, and the music industry swiftly turned its back on them. They were stripped of their Grammy Award, a symbolic and unprecedented act. Their albums were pulled from shelves, radio station refused to play any of thier songs and their reputation was shattered.

In hindsight, it's worth considering the context. Milli Vanilli were, in many ways, products of a music industry machine.
