KALIFORNIA KIDD AND HIS BAND KNOWN AS "KALIFORNIA REGULATORS". The Kalifornia Kidd is Randy Alan Smith aka KOWBOY A moniker given to him by the LA Sheriff's department and adopted by the people and friends in the streets he was raised. Founding member of the Regulators the southern California based rock band along with his brother Jimi Hughes had found success in the 90s when signed to Polygram Records. Soon after the first tour brother Jimi passed away. With the passing of his brother and musical mentor, he decided to push forward replacing the empty slot with a keyboard player rather than another third guitar player. Surprising to many skeptics the second record on their new label they created with the help of investor Ray Carver they named SOUTHBOUND RECORDS found even more success than the self entitled debut record with Polygram. Picking up the reigns of leadership and writing responsibilities found that drummer Mark Aceves stepped up to make a great team writer, who still collaborates with Randy time to time on new material the band KALIFORNIA performs live and in the studio. Kalifornia is the Regulators operating with only three members instead of six and under the name Kalifornia. Randy has decided to push forward with a combination of Regulators tunes along with new songs
