I’ve been playing guitar since 16, learning by ear from records by Ted Nugent, Led Zeppelin, Heart, The Rolling Stones, and Steely Dan — Ibanez in hand, Fender Twin Reverb beside the stereo. 

I trained my ear by starting with the bass line and identifying major vs. minor movement to determine key and harmony.

I studied traditional modern harmony for four semesters, along with two semesters of piano. My final recital was the second movement of Beethoven’s Sonata No. 8 (Op. 13, “Pathétique”) — performed clean under pressure.

I later studied privately with a graduate of Dick Grove School of Music, where I finally understood how harmony, progression, and emotional intention fit together.

I’ve produced music since the four-track tape era (Fostex, Tascam), through ADAT systems and Mackie boards, into early Digital Performer — and now Logic Pro with UAD plugins.

Today, I write and produce across multiple styles, from blues and classic rock to R&B, funk, pop, dance, and reggaeton. AI tools like Suno have expanded my stylistic range dramatically.

Currently studying advanced harmonic writing inspired by Steely Dan.
