BIO

Known for his eclectic set, Leno REI is a music specialist. His DJ style is a unique blend of Soul, Funk, Jazz, Latin, House, Disco, and Electronic in any music format that keeps everyone either on their seat or loose on the dancefloor.

As founder of THEMAN, his mission is clear, which is to develop a music platform that connects producers, musicians, artists, dancers on the local/international scene and introduce Indonesian artists on a bigger scale.

THEMAN MIX SERIES VOL.2 with Leno REI

TAMAT is Leno REI electronic music exploration into a darker approach to dance music. Malam Di Timur Jakarta is his personal story dealing with bust and hustle in his old neighborhood back in the '90s. 90's in Jakarta was known for the drug epidemic among the youth. The excitement to live dangerously was part of our everyday dynamic as high schoolers. All you can do is go up.

Malam Di Timur Jakarta adalah kisah pribadinya berurusan dengan hiruk pikuk di lingkungan lamanya di tahun 90-an. Tahun 90-an di Jakarta dikenal dengan maraknya wabah narkoba di kalangan anak muda. Evening Mood is one of the oldest @reimusic tracks that came out only on cassette and cd from Pepaya Records first compilation DENTUM DANSA BAWAH TANAH back in 2016. The track was well received in dance music community and now it's finally available on every major DSP and our Soundcloud.

This track is an unreleased remix by Leno REI for Jakarta-based producer KOMODO for his single "Music Akamady." The remixing process started back in 2013. However, there was five years gap between the project's starting date and Music Akamady's official release in 2018. The track was lost in time. Now the remix finds its way back to every DSP out there. One thing is for sure, Leno REI's production was beyond the time at that time. It's one of the finest electronic beat music from Leno REI.

Leno REI is the type of guy who listens and produces deep vibin' music. 
He is a modern man with a taste in future urban sound.

On the other hand, Mr. Ebony Sweet is a guy who loves all the sunshine, feeling good, sexy, and funky tunes of all eras and produces feeling-good music.

The reason why Leno splits himself into two is to create space and moment to explore his creativity without overlapping/overpowering each other. Sometimes you can't just connect two things into one. However, the things that connect Leno REI and Mr. Ebony Sweet in their creation are the heavy drums, jazzy groove, and soulful vibe.
