Mit der No.51 präsentieren wir Euch heute den Sound von Joseph Disco!

Joseph ist seit mehr als 15 Jahren aktiver Mitgestalter der Szene.
Vorerst noch als Resident im Kölner Club Playground, machte er sich dann zurück in seiner Heimat München, einen Namen durch seine eigenen Produktionen, die auf Labels wie zum Beispiel Stil vor Talent oder Great Stuff veröffentlicht wurden.
Mittlerweile ist Joseph in der Stadt Münster zuhause und hat eine Palette an unzähligen Releases vorzuweisen. Genauso zahlreich sind auch die Festivals und Clubs die er bespielt hat: Loveparade, Fusion Festival, Sisyphos, Kater Blau, Hive in Zürich - nur um ein paar wenige zu nennen.
Spätestens seit der Aufnahme in die Criminal Bassline Crew, ist er Dauergast in Berlin.
So übrigens auch am 24.6. auf unserem Verteiler Rave im Gretchen (mehr Infos folgen bald)!

Welcome Home beim SUBGROUND TALK, unserem Podcast für die elektronische Musikszene!

Für Folge #16 hat sich der DJ und Produzent Maurice Mino mit unserem Host Moritz in Berlin getroffen. Viele von euch kennen Maurice mit Sicherheit von einem seiner vielen Gigs und von seinem Instagram- und SoundCloud-Account. Wir haben Maurice wie gewohnt für euch in unserem Podcast zu seiner bisherigen musikalischen Reise und aktuellen Events und Projekten interviewt. Wir haben dieses Mal aber auch intensiv über Themen und den Wandel unserer Szene gesprochen und wie Maurice das Vatersein mit seinem Nightlife-Job in Einklang bringt. Zudem durften wir in mehrere aktuelle unveröffentlichte Tracks reinhören, die noch auf ihr Release warten.
Maurice, der in Berlin lebt, legt schon seit über 8 Jahren auf und produziert seit 2020 auch regelmäßig eigene Tracks. Eines seiner längsten Projekte mit einer Freundesgruppe ist die Partyreihe Monophobia, welche diesen November nach vielen Jahren toller Events nun aber ihre letzte Party durchführt. Maurice ist ebenso federführender Organisator des Praerie Festivals und hat eine Zeit lang mal in der Ritter Butzke intensiv mitgearbeitet. Nebenbei ist er mit Herzblut Vater und all diese Teile seines Lebensalltags teilt er auch sehr authentisch und sympathisch auf seinem Instagram-Account mit seinen Fans. Auch sein SoundCloud-Account ist eine Audiosammlung seiner Erlebnisse, und man munkelt, dass seine Sets am liebsten zum Sportmachen gehört werden.

We are happy to welcome @steffisound for the next part of our spotlight series! Steffi's musical preferences as a DJ are characterized by his love for deep, emotional, and particularly melancholic music, as well as hypnotic, driving, and dramatic powerful music. Since the beginning of his career, he has aimed to combine these characteristics into a recognizable style, which sometimes makes him a secret weapon, especially for morning hours, afterhours, or closing sets in clubs or at festivals.

MINI-INTERVIEW

What was the intention behind your set?
In podcasts or live DJ sets, I always try to express my current mood and incorporate all the musical influences that inspire me. It's less about the mixing technique and more about the atmosphere and the storytelling and especially the closing of the set. I try to keep it deep and combine hypnotic/trippy with emotional sounds. In this set are some tracks I played at Zugvøgel Festival this summer, where I've been a resident for a few years now. I got this as a little present for everyone who was sad that I haven't uploaded the live recording yet.

What was your most significant club / festival moment?
In 2019 I played the closing set on Zamonien Floor at Zugvøgel Festival and at the end of the set I could hear and see people in front of the stage completely falling apart with their emotions. Between laughing and crying with joy. The Dj Booth was full of my dearest friends and I can't remember a moment where I didn't have goosebumps. Light, decoration, people. Everything was just right

Favorite release at the moment & of all times?
Even though it was released a while ago, I discovered the track Beatamines & Stephan Zovsky – The Island (Dole&Kom Remix) this year. I really love this organic and driving sound of the track! 
All Time Fav is hard!
Melancholic sound influences me a lot and if it's danceable to it, then it's perfect for me. I have played the track in a lot of closing tracks and therefore I would choose Skena – Too Late (Original Mix).

This is what Reiner Liwenc includes in his dj-sets & produced tracks. Already a dozen releases on diffrent labels (f.e. Provocateur, eMBi, ANALOGmusiq, DeepDownDirty, Blufin, Subwoofer, DopeCodedTech etc.) emphasize the diversity.

His motto "GroovySoundz" is well known. The progressive and minimalist sound quickly found its followers around Frankfurt am Main & in the Cologne area.
