Task 1 - 4 chord song (Saving Grace)









The thought process whilst writing piece was little different to how I previously have worked. As the lyrics were already written for me and the topic was evident , I already had a base in which to work around.

I chose the key of D minor because I feel it has quite an honest and deep sound. The chord progression of the piece is i , IV7,  III , ii . This progression has quite an unusual form but I felt it worked perfectly with the lyrics 

The piece has three sections the first introducing the original theme. Within the second I wanted to gradually up the tempo along with fleshing out the chords a little , whilst the third verse is completely stripped back centring the fragile vocal.
