Releasing my debut album has been one of my most meaningful life-experiences, and apart from the times playing my livesets, I seem to never have found a right moment to share it personally with the world. Today it has been exactly one year since the release-date, so this should be a good moment.

"Kindred Phenomena marks Mattheis' debut album. After two cosmic EPs on Nous'klaer and a mini-album on tape for Ecstatic Recordings, he now returns to Nous'klaer for his first full story. An album shaped for every occasion: driving from the city to the island, dancing in the living room, or raving at sunset. On Kindred Phenomena Mattheis picks up where he left off: 'Swell' serves as another episode of the prisms, the modular synth excursion of 'Bit Fragments' pushes his arpeggiator solos a step further, and album standout 'Ben_M' provides his most beautiful dance of melodies yet. The album consists of eight tracks and comes as a double 12 inch for deejay convenience; and for the ultimate experience: go see Mattheis perform his album live on the road."

Hibernate are pleased to announce our latest release, Southern Points, from Greig Baird’s Moss Covered Technology project. Having previously released on Eilean and Fluid Audio, as well as under the alias Boomruin, Baird’s latest offering brings us a continuation of his organic atmospherics. 

Created during a very introspective period of his life, Southern Points is an intensely personal album, focusing on family and home life. Processed field recordings are mixed with an array of effects pedals and a Prophet 12 to create evocative textures and melodies. 

Imagery is also very important to the album with scenery experienced during a day out and photos playing a huge part in inspiring the writing and creation of the pieces. The cover image was taken close to Seatown, Dorset, one of the Southern Points referenced in the title.

The album is divided into 8 tracks, built by seemingly endless, sensitively interwoven surfaces and creates curves of tension between immersive, melancholic and euphoric moments. Layers of atmospheric sounds create a dense and engaging mood, flowing into a swirl of emotions. The release will be available as a double 12” and digital, mastered by Artefacts Mastering.
