DJ Hell and Radio Slave are Radio Hell for REKIDS200. Celebrating the label’s landmark release, the two legendary producers team up for a massive two-tracker with artwork from Alan Oldham, aka DJ T 1000.

From the electro-influenced intensity of ‘Radio Hell’ to the melody infused techno of ‘Lost Souls’, ‘This is Radio Hell’ is a release worthy of its creators' reputations as two of the most recognisable names in dance music over the past few decades and beyond. With both tracks clocking in at over 11 minutes, the release is epic in every sense of the word and is a fitting 200th release celebration for a label that has hosted some of the finest names in house and techno since its inception in 2006. 

DJ Hell, founder of International Deejay Gigolo, curator of the Museum of Modern Electronic Music, DJ since the late 1970s and acclaimed producer, is an icon of modern dance music and culture. Drawing lines between photography, art, design, fashion and music, Hell has worked with Sven Marquardt, Tom of Finland, Balenciaga, lectured at the Munich Chamber of Architects and created his own fragrance, all whilst holding down residencies at Tresor, E-Work and Watergate throughout his career. 

Radio Slave, aka Matt Edwards, is responsible for some of the most recognisable techno tracks in the genre, including ‘Grindhouse’, ‘Don’t Stop No Sleep’, ‘Another Club’, and many other timeless cuts. His collaboration work with Joel Martin as Quiet Village and solo work as Radio Slave has received critical acclaim, and he remains one of the most in-demand and consistent remixers around.

Rekids is one of electronic music’s most bankable imprints, having played host to the likes of Nina Kraviz, Robert Hood, Joe Claussell, Mr. G, DJ Deep, Theo Nasa and Alinka. Reaching its 200th release, Matt Edwards’ imprint shows no signs of slowing down, with forthcoming releases from Mark Broom, A Sagittariun, and Roman Flugel scheduled for 2022.

Story time:
Shortly after the "Monoliths" album was released, Dustin found the bulk of album tour gigs to be focused on big room crowds often numbering anywhere from 1,000-10,000 people per night. Since Dustin is better suited as a smaller, more intimate-club DJ, he found himself in desperate need of big room techno tracks...something he's generally not a fan of. In result, he went off to the studio for a session of various big room tracks he could enjoy playing out, and "Born Spark" was one of them.

"Born Spark" was inspired by regular appearances at Awakenings in Amsterdam, where indoor fireworks compliment the peak parts of the evening. Inspired by this, he opted for switching out stale "white noise" in favor of fireworks on the track. He tried Born Spark out at Awakenings on New Years without any thought and what happened next was priceless: Once the fireworks went off in the track, all of the production staff panicked as they thought the fireworks started going off early and they quickly rushed to the DJ booth to investigate. It was only then that they found out the sound was coming from Zahn himself. Heart attacks were avoided and...actually...come to think of it...Dustin hasn't played there since! Hah! :)

Ben Klock’s Klockworks invites the legendary London-based artist The Advent to join the ever-growing roster to deliver the 22nd instalment on the label, to be due out this September. The Advent started producing in his trademark raw, energetic style in 1994 and since then has become a rebel and an icon in the scene. Cisco Ferreira puts forward three stand-out tracks for Klockworks, one brand new one and two from The Advent’s rave archives.

On the A-side, ‘High Horse’ is a fresh track from The Advent that has been prominent in his live sets, features a saucy vocal that can also be recognised as a favourite in Ben Klock’s DJ sets in the past few months, now finally making an appearance on wax for the label. 

The flip-side features two previously unreleased tracks from the 90’s when the approach was more raw and groovy, something that can be seen having a revival in current times. ‘Un Named’ is more stripped down and pulsating while ‘Sound Pove’ features a jacking Chicago house groove with a techno tempo, both fitting perfectly into the Klockworks catalog.

Celebrating its 20th release, this edition of LF RMX features appearances from two of the scene‘s cutting edge producers: Richie Hawtin under his guise of Plastikman alongside Carl Craig‘s Tres Demented-alias. 

While Hawtin‘s original might seem a minimalistic bleeping experiment to some, Len Faki‘s edit has plenty of groove to it. Equipped with substantial low-end frequency and a solid kick, the track slowly develops an ambiance that's spooky, tribal and mesmerizing.

The flip carries an equally strong rework, its grand acid riff and standout-vocals holding center stage, with newly added percussion driving the momentum that turn this one into a peak-time hitter in true crazed-out Tres Demented-style.

Italian artist Anfisa Letyago debuts on Rekids delivering two captivating cuts, including two brilliant remixes from Mark Broom.

For over a decade, this Neapolitan DJ and producer has been renowned for her hard-hitting techno tracks on labels like Redrum and Intec. She now debuts on Radio Slave’s Rekids, following the likes of Laurent Garnier, Spencer Parker, Hybrasil, P.Leone, and SRVD.

‘I’d Rather B’ starts with shaking percussions into soul styled vocals, fading out to deeper and darker tones, before ‘Pump It’ progresses into a smooth acidic background completed with a subtle groove undertone. Warp Records and Cocoon artist Mark Broom returns to Rekids with two remixes of ‘I’d Rather B’.
The first leads with a stomping bass and rupturing sirens, generating an atmospheric aesthetic from start to finish, whilst the second focuses more on the groove – introducing piercing claps, rattling hats and small bursts of vocals cries as the track continues to build.
