Out of Place Records kicks off in 2021 with their 13th release. For this occasion, the label came up with a set of diverse techno tracks ready for anyone’s bag. Approx one month ago I took on Electric Rescue challenge to do and release this 4 track ep in 30 days!
It was such a hard challenge, while composing I went from euphoria to anxiety...
I usually take time producing tracks but I discovered that working under pressure can be gratifying and I'm very happy with the result!

For those who know me trough my releases, I always like to add some non techno element to my EPs, so, some hours before the deadline I decided to remix one of the track with my alias Derivative Of The Unconscious, it's the first time I'm releasing something with this alias making this project very special for me!

The title track of Harvey McKay’s ‘DV8’ EP on Rekids Special Projects starts with driving, shuffling drums shot through with jazz-inflected chord stabs. It’s techno with an authentic soul feel yet perfectly suited to work the dancefloor and sets the tone for the rest of the tracks.

Up next, ‘Footstep’ sees the Scottish McKay fuse an evocative vocal with organ riffs and more powerful and raw drum work before ‘Rasta Woman’, where the Soma, Cocoon, UNCAGE, and Bedrock artist once again pushes his drum machines by blending hard-hitting rhythms with earworm vocal snippets, closing out a club-ready release brimming with attitude.

Some of the tracks are taken from Alarico’s unreleased LIVE performances materials and some were tools originally intended for club use only that are finally carefully selected and assembled in one double vinyl, collectively inspired by some of the artists’s private life episodes as the tracks title suggest and self explain.
