From early rave days to international club phenomenon, Seb Zito’s rise up the electronic music ranks began in the hustle and bustle of London’s pirate radio scene. An integral part of Enzo Siragusa’s Fuse family since the party’s inception, Seb has established himself as one of the UK’s best-loved talents thanks to iconic productions on Fuse, Kaoz Theory and many more besides. Now, 2021 looks set to be a career milestone with the release of his debut album Truth In My Steps, out on Eats Everything’s Edible this April.

With a well-travelled history already under his belt, Truth In My Steps represents a culmination of all Seb’s musical influences. Be it the two-step flavours of 2am Lover that represent his early dancefloor days, or the minimal-toned Charlies Gaff that highlights his signature dubby sound, Seb’s maiden album acts as a handbook for all his past experiences, giving us an insight into the scenes and cultures that have moulded his style into what it is today.

Eats Everything’s Edible has been at the forefront of contemporary house and techno since its inception seven years ago. Early releases from Lord Leopard and Lauren Lane were pivotal in helping shape the label’s sound, paving the way for the likes of Alex Virgo, Paul Woolford, Dance System and many others in recent years and creating the perfect platform for this debut album from Seb.

Mathias Kaden returns to Rekids with ‘Blackbird’, featuring a remix from Ian Pooley.

Last appearing on Rekids with the ‘Control Your Mind’ EP in 2020, Mathias Kaden now delivers his third release on Radio Slave’s label, teaming up with Zoë Xenia for the mammoth ‘Blackbird’ backed with a pair of remixes from house legend Ian Pooley.

Leading the A-side, ‘Blackbird’ sees Mathias Kaden reach for rumbling basslines, fluttering synths, and lush piano chords to craft a tense, building track enhanced by Zoë Xenia’s soaring vocal performance.

Additionally, an instrumental version of the track features on the A2, providing a welcome bonus for listeners and DJs alike.

On the flip, Ian Pooley twists the track into a rattling house jam, with wriggling keys, bouncing low-end sizzling percussion sitting under slices of Xenia’s effortless vocals. Rounding out the release is the ‘Basic Dub’ mix, which sees Pooley playing with classic dub techniques for a sharp instrumental take on the original.

Ian Pooley returns to Rekids with Studio A Pt.3 this September. 

The third and final entry in a three-part release series based on his studio, Ian Pooley’s ‘Studio A Pt. 3’ for Radio Slave’s imprint sees him drop yet another set of bumping, hardware-focussed tracks.

Leading the A-side, ‘PSS480’ combines swinging drums, modulated low end, and trippy bleeps for a party-starting house track. ‘SP12 Electric Mistress’ brings flanged-out drums and lush pads together for a wonky yet driving cut. On the flip, ‘Viola’ sees Pooley heading toward heavier territories with rumbling kicks and heaving synths forming a pumping techno track before the ‘303 Version’ of ‘SP12 Electric Mistress’ closes out the EP, introducing tweaked-out acid lines and freaky FX to the original version.

Active since the early 90s, the German DJ/producer has released on the likes of Force Inc, V2 Records, and his own Pooledmusic, remixing for the likes of Deee-Lite, Carl Cox and many more, as well as being one of the few to be remixed by Daft Punk.

Founder of Boy’s Own and Junior Boys Own and an active part of Defected sub-label Faith, Terry Farley is a bonafide house legend. Teaming up with XOYO and Music Box Radio resident Wade Teo, the duo recruit New York-based spoken word artist Kameelah Waheed for a party-starting house cut on Radio Slave’s Rekids.

Terry Farley and Wade Teo team up with Kameelah Waheed to release their new track ‘Why We Dance’ on the hugely respected Rekids imprint. The release is joined with two varied remixes that also make their way onto Radio Slave’s legendary label. Some Rekids alumni include Carl Cox, Ian Pooley, Mark Broom, Hybrasil, Commix, X-Coast and many more.Across the A-side, robust drums, rocking low end, and piano stabs combine to provide the perfect backdrop for Kameelah Waheed’s infectious vocal. This jackin’ house track is a cleverly crafted production with a catchy hook and pulsating groove throughout.

On the flip, Farley and Teo deliver their ‘Lonely Dancer Remix’ to kick off the B-side, adding subtle percussions and floating pads for a grooving rework. Rounding out the release, Farley recruits Kevin Swain for the collaborative ‘Angels Take Control’ remix, with dubbed-out claps, menacing low-end combining for a heads-down closing track.

Active since the early ‘90s, House & Techno mainstay @SteveBug requires little introduction, having contributed to the likes of Bedrock, Knee Deep In Sound, Minus, Cocoon, and Defected, alongside running his own Poker Flat and Sublease Music labels, amongst others. Now making his return to Will Saul’s Aus Music following his ‘Back To ‘95’ EP in 2022, the Berlin-based DJ/producer readies three
bumping House tracks across his new EP, ‘Piano FM’.
Title track ‘Piano FM’ leads the release, bringing thumping kicks, soaring vocal samples, and piano stabs
together for a chunky house jam topped off with deep, rubbery bass. ‘The Moment’ forms a shuffling groove,
peppered with dubbed-out samples and rolling chord progressions for a heads-down groover. ‘Use Me’ combines swirling keys and pitch-perfect drums with bouncing low-end, emotive vocal snippets, and subtle synth licks, rounding out a standout EP from one of the best to do it. The 'Need Somebody' EP comes with with three original tracks and a remix of the title cut and we've got the premiere of Borrowed Identity's rework. Trust us when we say this is a golden slice of bumping house. The German-Romanian​ producer is another artist who can change his style depending on vibe and mood and his remix is the stand-out on the record.

The piano chords are lifted from the original and introduced early on with fierce stabs, while smooth vocal cuts glide over the top. The kick drums are heavy and spread liberally throughout and the melodies, well they're just damn beautiful. We've had this one on repeat.
