Italian DJ/producer Marco Faraone returns to Rekids this August with ‘Any Good Vibe?’

Tuscany-born, Barcelona-based Marco Faraone runs the UNCAGE label and event series, where he showcases the breadth and depth of his tastes. Returning to Radio Slave’s Rekids imprint after multiple appearances on the label, ‘Any Good Vibe?’ sees Faraone bring another potent EP of stylish techno.

Leading the A-side is the title cut, with yelping vocals and flaming percussion all adding to the wild energy of the track. The superb 'Ego Kills' follows, with swinging drums, chord stabs, and dubbed-out stylings that suit it to sweaty back rooms. Rounding out the release is 'Ghana', a heavy techno groove layered up with plenty of percussion, urgent synth sounds, and a vocal that adds unease to the intense atmosphere.

Inafekt whips up a triple whammy of tracks on a new release for Eats Everything & Andres Campo’s EI8HT imprint. The ‘Serpent EP’ hits all the right notes, packed with weird and wonderful synth work and raucous drum workouts.

With his latest tracks landing on labels such as Nervous Records, Trick, Relentless Records and Arcane, Inafekt has been busy extending his reputation to all corners of the house and techno communities, which has seen the Liverpool-based producer go from strength to strength.

Inafekt adds: “I’ve always loved tribal elements in techno, so with this EP I wanted to create my own spin combining the two, I tried to be as weird and unique as I could with these tracks! It’s been trial and error for nearly two years as I wanted to put this release specifically on EI8HT, which is one of the best techno labels for me and I’m really proud of the production and end result of the tracks. They are also heavily inspired by some of my favourite artists like Black Girl/White Girl, Melé and Eats Everything.”

After another huge year in 2016 which saw the beginning of their hit Soma Track Series and yet another critically acclaimed album with Machine Cut Noise, Slam set out in 2017 to push the Techno boundaries even further with their first EP of the year, Prospector.

Leaning on an almost tribal vibe, title track Prospector creates a hypnotic opening atmosphere as it builds gently with it’s subversive rhythms and otherworldly, synthetic percussive elements. Spheric delves even deeper into mesmeric territory as pervasive low end and instantly magnetic synth patterns, stocked by unfaltering hi-hats serve as the back bone to a proper peak time burner. Neoteric sits solidly in the middle as tripped out rhythmic sections fold across each other as punchy percussion bangs effortlessly throughout guided by a quite dramatic build up. Bringing the EP to a close with Fervant, Slam take things  down a notch but quickly turn this into a real epic journey. Glistening pads and powerful sequences ebb and flow, building gracefully to euphoric like highs in this 9min odyssey.

Slam continue their Techno renaissance through every production and this latest EP from the prolific Glaswegian duo clearly shows their distinctive sound.

BEC returns to Second State with the massive 'No Regrets' EP capturing her stunning approach of creating heavy, hard hitting Techno with a flawless female nuance.
Kicking off with the instantly memorable title track ‘No Regrets’, BEC lets the groove take center stage while a soothing yet eery female vocal repeatedly lures its prey to an unsuspecting climax. ‘Are You Looking’ follows with a brutal low end that balances perfectly with wildly hypnotic rave sounds and dashes of wicked sonics creating a profound journey into the sonic ether. Taking a slightly similar approach but committing to a more melodic and emotional trip, 'Play Drum' takes us into euphoric territories reminiscent of early classics. Wrapping up the originals, ‘Sychronicity’ twists vintage concepts with future sounds resulting in an absolute gem of a tune that will surely be feted by all for years to come. Not that it was necessary, but to add and extra element to the EP, 2000 and One reworks ‘No Regrets’ into an insanely freaky peak time bomb that is guaranteed to cause mass dance floor hysteria.

Furthering the roster of Scottish based talent, the anonymous VØIDIST joins the Soma ranks as the Glasgow based producer drops a furious and fast paced debut with the Spirit EP. Displaying excellent production prowess, this fledging artist delves headfirst into high end sonic destruction. 

Title track Spirit kicks things off at break neck speed and remains a perfect, dark and driving opener, punctuated by evolving, rhythmic synth tones. Grind pushes forward with a more atmospheric tone from the outset; mesmerising components sit atop syncopated percussion and ruff acidic bass. Sleeper continues on the hypnotic approach as polyrhythmic elements build gradually backed by thunderous drum workouts. Enigma closes out the EP with a distinct EBM influence as drilling synths bore deep, driven by straight up and direct percussion.
