The Innervisions cofounder reflects on the label's 20-year anniversary, the art of DJing and bringing politics back to the underground.

One of the most popular record labels in the RA ecosystem is Innervisions, and one of its most popular DJs is cofounder Steffen Berkhahn, AKA Dixon. He started the outlet in 2005 with Kristian Rädle and Frank Wiedemann of Âme. Back when RA ran DJ polls, Dixon was #1 several years in a row. We've since retired them, but Dixon's appeal remains as widespread as ever. He made a name for himself in Berlin in the '90s when he was just a teenager, spreading a melodic strain of house and techno that became the Innervisions brand and continues to pull heartstrings around the world.

This year, the label has been celebrating its 20-year anniversary, and Dixon reflects on its astronomical success on the heels of two major anniversary parties at Berghain and fabric. He also discusses how he's kept the label—and his own career—fresh and relevant; his feelings around commercial success; the importance of taking annual breaks from music and production; and his interest in reclaiming underground electronic music as a political space. German House artist Oliver Dollar announces his ‘Contemporary’ LP on Rekids, arriving 21st November 2025. Since 2024, he has released four EPs on Radio Slave’s label, featuring collaborations with over a dozen artists and singer-songwriters, supported by the likes of Dam Swindle, Louie Vega, Honey Dijon, Hunee, Kai Alce, and more.

"Contemporary stands for what I'm playing right now, from deeper tunes to more jacking and booty bangers. I've been working on this album for the last four years and want to thank all of the collaborators and remixers (so far) involved in making this album happen. Since 2011, Industry Standard label boss Oliver Dollar has become a trusted name in House music, he was one of the leading proponents of its Fidget subgenre in Berlin at the height of its popularity, propelling him towards releases on labels such as Snatch!, Classic Music Company, and Defected, alongside a reputation as a formidable collaborator that’s worked with the likes of Crazy P, Mousse T, and Todd Edwards. For the ‘Contemporary’ LP, he doubles down on this spirit of partnership, bringing together a transatlantic cast of friends and peers, linking Berlin and Detroit through a shared House vision.

The album begins with ‘The New Is Here’, where Oliver Dollar teams up with Nils Ohrman for a soulful sermon that sets the tone with warmth and gravity, which was previously reimagined into a club-focused dub for ‘Contemporary Part Four’. From there, the mood shifts into ‘Downtown’ with Phil WZK, a deep, Jazz-inflected groove underpinned by a spoken monologue that feels both intimate and eternal.

Vocalists like APROPOS, Boog Brown, and Billy Love then bring soul and gospel fire, while producers including ADMN, Seven Davis Jr., Harvard Bass, Brillstein, and Austin Ato shape grooves that range from Disco-tinged uplift to deep, dubby hypnotism. Rather than a showcase of features, the album flows as one unified statement, a celebration of community, connection, and the timeless energy of House music.

Founded in 2006, Radio Slave’s Rekids has since launched the Techno-focused Rekids Special Projects in 2017 and its latest sublabel, REK’D, in 2024. With Matt Edwards as the sole A&R, Rekids has been instrumental in developing emerging artists and remains a trusted home for House and adjacent sounds, recently featuring names such as Hilit Kolet, Tal Fussman, Frankey & Sandrino, Mathias Kaden, Huxley, and many more.

Oliver Dollar’s ‘Contemporary’ LP on Rekids is a genuine team eﬀort, bringing together some of the brightest voices and producers for a masterpiece that seamlessly blends modern and classic House, Dub, and Disco.

From a young age, Igor Holchin was captivated by music, gravitating towards the vibrant energy of club parties over traditional schooling. By 16, he was playing at after-parties, soon headlining major events in his native Moldova. Encouraged by friends abroad, he began performing internationally, leaving his mark in countries like Belgium, Italy, and Switzerland's iconic Supermarket club.

Immersed in the nuances of sound, Igor masterfully weaves sharp yet subtle elements into his tracks and DJ sets, which span from classic house to folk. His unique sonic signature is a captivating blend of rhythms. This journey culminated in 2021 with the release of his debut record on the fresh label, Mountain Series.

Dino Lenny debuts on Radio Slave’s Rekids with ‘Not About The Volume’ on 5th December 2025 alongside a remix from label regular Tiger Stripes. Active for over three decades, Italian/UK DJ, producer, singer, and Fine Human Records label owner Dino Lenny has released on R&S, Diynamic, Innervisions, and Bedrock, while working with artists such as Underworld, Missy Elliott, Wu-Tang Clan, and Madonna on remixes and collaborations. Since 2021, he’s hosted Tomorrowland’s Core, the festival’s alternative electronic stage's radio show, which has featured Nina Kraviz, Ellen Allien, DJ Tennis, and more.

Lenny’s ‘Not About The Volume’ boasts a loopy groove that forms the base for impactful, jazz-inflected hits, and at the centre, a quirky, party-starting vocal that’s sure to cement itself in the minds of the dancefloor. Tiger Stripes reworks ‘Not About The Volume’ with a fresh new bassline, quicker drums, and amplified synth elements for a more hypnotic take on yet another Rekids anthem.

Carebears is a musical project launched in 2017 by Alessandro Tonon, an Italian producer with a long-standing presence in the electronic music scene. Born as a personal exploration between analog textures and forward-thinking sounds, Carebears blends funk-infused basslines, swinging drum grooves, and a distinct taste for the raw, physical nature of sound.

With a recognizable style that embraces analog gear and vinyl culture, the Carebears record series has reached its eighth release, each one catching the attention of key DJs in the international underground scene. His productions have been supported in high-profile contexts, with recent appearances on respected labels such as Cadenza and Bar Musica, the latter featuring a remix by Thomas Melchior. Artur is a well-known and highly-respected figure among minimal and underground music lovers for over a decade. In addition to managing his own label, Kayf, his productions have appeared on numerous top imprints, including Crosstown Rebels, Trapez ltd, Tzinah Records, and many others. His tracks have also garnered remixes from esteemed artists like Shaun Reeves, Hermanez, and Coskun Akmerik.

Growing up between Spain and Russia, Artur launched his career in Barcelona, founding a studio and performing at the city's iconic clubs such as Macarena and Sala Becool. His music, supported by DJs like Richie Hawtin and Joseph Capriati, has reached major festivals and clubs worldwide. He has further shared the booth with a diverse range of artists, from Joel Mull and Gary Beck to Petar Dundov and Daniel Sanchez.
