Straight out of summer with a powerful, playful and provocative new single for the clubs, Catz 'n Dogz link up with their good friend Megane Mercury with two raw and empowering tracks: 'Toma / Kiki' 

A gifted and highly experimental vocalist, who was shouted by Vogue Spain as a 'Hot Talent For 2021', Megane has been making a name for himself with his electronic, pop and hip-hop fusions over the last few years from his native Madrid. Rapping and singing in Latin, his work often subverts Spanish and pop culture, traditions and songs, reclaiming them from his own perspective as a black and queer artist. Both these tracks are no exception.. 

'Toma' riffs on Conchi Cortes' 1999 pop hit that every Spanish kid growing up in the 90s would know, but gives things a much darker twist. Flipping the rhythmical onomatopoeic sounds with a rich, tribal vocal, he empowers the listener and explains how their lifestyle cannot be questioned or compromised under any terms. 

'Kiki' follows suit in both its rhythmical vocal use and its subversive twist. Taking the Spanish sound for the cockerel's dawn chorus while nodding in the direction of Daddy Yankee's 'Gasolina', 'Kiki' once again fires up references that give a little slice of familiarity in an otherwise exciting and fresh territory that's gritty, direct and guaranteed to whip up dancefloors this season. 

Expect more subversive messages from Catz 'n Dogz in the future as they continue to work with inspiring queer artists, creating a platform where vital messages can be made in ways that make us all unite and dance together.

Steyoyoke Black welcomes newcomer Ege Yanik to the storied label. A producer on the rise, Yanik presents his version of the dark ethereal ethos. This 2- track release, “The Place Beyond Time” will entrance you to its namesake.

The release begins with “Eclipse”, a mesmerizing and hypnotic track. It is glued together with cloudlike angelic atmospheres and subtle hi-hats. A skipping tom groove and uneasy drones propel the listener toward the heavens. The title track, “The Place Beyond Time”, is reserved for the coup de gras. The angelic atmospheres from the previous track have been traded in for dark, broody, and mysterious undertones. The haunting stabs and classic galloping bassline are archetypal ethereal techno.

Ege Yanik’s “The place Beyond Time” will surely hypnotize and transport you to a place where time simply ceases to exist. With its bittersweet and emotive soundscapes, it is a paragon.

Radio Slave teams up with Nez for all-new versions of the club smash, ‘Wait a Minute’.

The first single from Radio Slave’s forthcoming 2023 LP, ‘Wait a Minute’ sees the UK legend pair with grammy nominated multi-hyphenate Nez for a hard-hitting, rap-infused house track that has become a staple of the handful of DJs that’s already causing track ID request mayhem across social media.

Initially meeting via Radio Slave’s incendiary remix of the FELIX DA HOUSECAT co-produced ‘Lift Off’ released via Three Six Zero/Sony in 2021, LA’s Nez and Berlin-based Radio Slave made plans to work together as soon as possible, and a new version of 2020’s ‘Wait A Minute’ is the result. Featuring remixes from Rekids’ own Mark Broom and coming complete with an instrumental version, Radio Slave feat. Nez ‘Wait A Minute’ is released through Rekids on 26th August 2022.

Radio Slave, aka Matt Edwards, is responsible for some of the most recognisable underground dance tracks of the past 20 years, including ‘Grindhouse’, ‘Don’t Stop No Sleep’, ‘Another Club’, and many other timeless cuts. His collaboration work with Joel Martin as Quiet Village and solo work as Rekid has received critical acclaim, and he remains one of the most in-demand and consistent remixers around. Since beginning the Radio Slave project back in 2001, Matt has always championed his love of Hip hop, officially remixing N.E.R.D in 2004, releasing music from Chicago’s Jack Hogan on Rekids, and curating the disco rap compilation ‘Harlem World (The Sound Of The Big Apple Rappin’)’ with Joel Martin and the late Mark B on their Heroes and Villains imprint.

Nez has worked with the likes of Chance The Rapper, A$AP Rocky, Tinashe, ScHoolboy Q, and many more before dropping the dancefloor focussed ‘Midnight Music’ EP in 2021. Growing up in Chicago, Nez absorbed the rich musical lineage of the Windy City, and now distils these into his own unique creations and collaborations.
