The Innervisions cofounder reflects on the label's 20-year anniversary, the art of DJing and bringing politics back to the underground.

One of the most popular record labels in the RA ecosystem is Innervisions, and one of its most popular DJs is cofounder Steffen Berkhahn, AKA Dixon. He started the outlet in 2005 with Kristian Rädle and Frank Wiedemann of Âme. Back when RA ran DJ polls, Dixon was #1 several years in a row. We've since retired them, but Dixon's appeal remains as widespread as ever. He made a name for himself in Berlin in the '90s when he was just a teenager, spreading a melodic strain of house and techno that became the Innervisions brand and continues to pull heartstrings around the world.

This year, the label has been celebrating its 20-year anniversary, and Dixon reflects on its astronomical success on the heels of two major anniversary parties at Berghain and fabric. He also discusses how he's kept the label—and his own career—fresh and relevant; his feelings around commercial success; the importance of taking annual breaks from music and production; and his interest in reclaiming underground electronic music as a political space. Adiel Mora is a Chilean talent who has made a mark on the global House scene. With over seven years performing across Australia, he has been key at events like PIV Australia, SASH, WeLove, and Velvet. His releases on major labels such as Glasgow Underground, Moan, Viva Music, and COCOA showcase his versatility. He has collaborated with Kevin McKay and shared stages with artists like Eats Everything and Archie Hamilton. An upcoming EP on Luciano’s prestigious label adds to his growing discography.

Beyond performing, Adiel is the creative force behind Velvet, hosting sold-out events in Bali and Australia. He has toured South America, playing at venues like Lost Beach and Lost City Quito. As founder of Glitch Society Records, he has launched top-tier artists and achieved Beatport chart success. The label will release its first vinyl featuring Colayuta, Astre, and Jizz. He also promotes international DJs, opening doors for Hispanic talent in Oceania and Indonesia.

Carebears is a musical project launched in 2017 by Alessandro Tonon, an Italian producer with a long-standing presence in the electronic music scene. Born as a personal exploration between analog textures and forward-thinking sounds, Carebears blends funk-infused basslines, swinging drum grooves, and a distinct taste for the raw, physical nature of sound.

With a recognizable style that embraces analog gear and vinyl culture, the Carebears record series has reached its eighth release, each one catching the attention of key DJs in the international underground scene. His productions have been supported in high-profile contexts, with recent appearances on respected labels such as Cadenza and Bar Musica, the latter featuring a remix by Thomas Melchior. Ultimately, Carebears is a project made for the dancefloor, yet always looking beyond it—balancing analog nostalgia with a contemporary urgency.

Artur is a well-known and highly-respected figure among minimal and underground music lovers for over a decade. In addition to managing his own label, Kayf, his productions have appeared on numerous top imprints, including Crosstown Rebels, Trapez ltd, Tzinah Records, and many others. His tracks have also garnered remixes from esteemed artists like Shaun Reeves, Hermanez, and Coskun Akmerik.

Growing up between Spain and Russia, Artur launched his career in Barcelona, founding a studio and performing at the city's iconic clubs such as Macarena and Sala Becool. His music, supported by DJs like Richie Hawtin and Joseph Capriati, has reached major festivals and clubs worldwide.
