The iconic club by the Spree celebrates 20 years with a mammoth 20 track compilation of new and unreleased tracks exclusive to the compilation. From Sasha to Anja Schneider, Henrik Schwarz and Adana Twins, right through to the ascendent names such as JAMIIE, Kristin Velvet, JOPLYN and Biesmans, the compilation is an exhilarating snapshot of some of the artists who have shaped Watergate’s sound; both via the label and through laying down unforgettable sets at the club over a two-decade period. 
 
The highlight heavy compilation charts a course throughout all the deep, dark, euphoric, tech and even pop-laden corners of house music. Henrik Schwarz navigates a classic course via the vibey ‘You Need Attitude’, while JOPLYN brings soaring melodies and arresting vox with ‘Lima’. Biesmans is in characteristic sleek form with the sparkling nostalgic-soaked business of ‘Basic Bro’, before emerging stars Mia Mendi contribute a driving electro jam ‘Astromech’. 
 
The iconic Anja Schneider is an essential addition. The Berlin icon brings her A-Game with the big piano chords and gospel vocals of ‘Can’t You See Me No More’ before handing the baton to Extrawelt who comes strong with a delicious micro house serenade ‘Rover’. Sasha weaves a trademark masterful beast with ‘Wolf Cider, a dark and twisted weapon that’s packed with plenty of groove and low-end attitude. First premiered during her excellent Boiler Room session in 2019, Kristin Velvet’s ‘Wanted Competition’ is a propulsive gem that reinforces her position as one of the most exciting breakout producers of the last two years. 
 
Adana Twins are always on-point and they don’t disappoint with ‘Nacht’ a deviant, distorted house tool the belongs in every DJ’s back pocket. Matthias Meyer & Ryan Davis enjoy a superlative history on Watergate Records and share another ace ‘Genki’, a shimmering, drama-laden piece that morphs into a tougher psy-laden finish. New Watergate Agency signing DJEFF crafts an uplifting string-laden ace with ‘Cloud 7, showing off his impressive musicianship along the way, while Hyenah make an essential contribution with the funky key-driven houser ‘Going in Circles’. Club resident JAMIIE shares the wicked ‘Echoes’, which is pacey and hypnotizing in equal measures and brought to life by colourful arpeggios and a latticework of key patterns. The project rounds out on a stunning note with ‘Tone Trails’, a lilting slice of electronica by Watergate stalwart Marco Resmann & Lee Jones, which is inflected with organic guitar and dreamy melodies. 
 
The release will be presented as a triple gatefold vinyl using a special ink-spot color effect and will feature a collection of the compilation’s key tracks, while all tracks will be available digitally.

Sébastien is from France and his passion for music started very early… Ten-year old Seb heard a sound that made him dance/weak/tremble. The medium was disco and the message was instant like the big bang. The loudest sound from nothing brought with it the first feeling of electronic music. A few years later in Paris, a tape from his older sister drove him deeper into the universe of electronic music and accompanied him into his teenage years in Paris. It was all about nightlife activities, experiencing parties, and organizing them himself with a friend. Later, someone brought him to a famous party in Batofar ( Kwality party ), and he soon began buying records in Katapult record shop. He started to build up a collection of vinyl and discovered the special sound from Cologne.
He soon laid his hands on a synthesizer and a drum machine and began to make music of his own. Obsessed by the minute details, he found inspiration in some artists and saw how most of them were from the German electronic scene. The Dada movement is also something that affected a lot his music, specially for the treatment of his own vocals.
Sébastien found himself singing and playing synthesizer in a psychedelic band. Singing like a choir with effects, rehearsing with long haired metal men - the influences were enchanting, but not quite his taste, and after half a year something else was calling. A longing started to grow in him, the horizons of another city. It was time to hit the autobahn. He put a tiger in the tank and drove to Germany. The years in Berlin were a seducing hotbed of art, music, going out, playing music and producing music.
He released several Ep but in 2010, it really began to be serious when he joined the prestigious label Kompakt. He released two Ep with them which the hypnotic "Fallen Angel" and also the annual "Compiles" Total 11 & 14.
2015 was the release year of a big track for Sébastien, "Captain Drag", this underground hit, was first discovered at the Burning Man Mayan Warrior stage during Rebolledo & Barnt set and then was played for the opening of the Chanel show in September 2015.

Francesco Tristano really needs no introduction lately, his music speaks volumes and his reputation precedes him; with that said we are happy to share ‘Place On Lafayette’ with you once again, this time including some stunning remixes.
The first one is a collaboration between two highly respected artists: Thomas Gandey and Radio Slave. The two take the track further into tech-house territory with the percussion driving while multiple layers begin the fall into one another, achieving a beautifully elegant and jazzy end result.
Guti’s vision is much deeper, with hints of dub here and there as the artists drives the tension up and creates a stunning groove. The final remix come from Tuff City Kids, who are known for their sometimes unconventional approach to making music, and in this case, it works. They channel a raw vibe and create something that is quite possibly the furthest thing from the original in terms of percussion. The pianos keep the thread strong, and the rhythm takes care of the rest.
