Dudley’s DJ Pantha has been a stalwart of the UKG scene since ‘07, already reaching great acclaim for his unique take on British dance music styles. He is a true pioneer of the bassline sound and is at home on the Bristol-based Time Is Now series, bringing hard energy for his first vinyl release.

Cheese & Bun EP takes control of the vibe straight away with ‘Bun And Cheese’, a bassline workout with bone-rattling snares and discordant melodies.’Dem A Talk’ builds from a stuttering intro into naughty grime-leaning instrumentals; Cubzy’s harsh flows make the track a real hard-hitter. The B-side is even more explosive, Rikki Tuff’s vocals a mix of bars and dubby smoothness that contrast the extreme depths of the bassline in ‘Can’t Beat Da Farda’. ‘Mortal Kombat’, closing the EP, is less dark and more cheeky, taking those unmistakable video game samples and using them to make a distinctive, sidewinding stepper of a beat.
