Fred Holland says: "Hello! My name is Fred Holland and I wanted to tell you a little bit about the music I make. I compose Ambient music for the most part. While Ambient can cover a wide range of styles, instruments, even timing, and subject. It can be wonderfully complex or elegantly simple. I focus on the more simple approach, often choosing a topic or subject as the inspiration. Ultimately I attempt to create a sense of calm, peace, and serenity for the listener. I feel in this often chaotic life anything that helps us find some inner peace is worth seeking out.

I am a guitarist and a keyboard musician. Most of my music uses both types of instruments to create sounds that I find interesting, soothing, or creating a sonic picture of what subject I have chosen (Sunlight in the Forest is an example, or “Beautiful Storm”). I hope you find this music enjoyable, that it helps you find calm in your day-to-day comings and goings.

Today with us, Alex Steiner!

Alex Steiner is happily married with 2 kids. He lives in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area of the upper Midwest (US). He has been collecting records and DJing/selecting since 2001. In the beginning, it was artists like Moby, The Chemical Brothers, The Crystal Method, Fatboy Slim, and other accessible 90s artists that caught his ear. 

After exploring those for a bit, he discovered underground electronic music mainly through a couple of really great local (and long since closed) record stores and he got hooked. He has explored all different types of sounds throughout the years, but he would say his true love is Experimental/Leftfield type stuff and ambient.

The approach to the ambient mix he put together is the same as always - to create a soundscape with varying layers and textures for one to get lost in while showcasing some of the great artists he discovered later that need to be heard.
