Relay & Front drop their new single on the Rub A Duck imprint, featuring the two titles “Farewell Letter” and “Farseer”.

Relay & Front, two producers from Finland and Estonia, teamed up in summer 2011 when they were both 19 years of age. Initially meeting regularly online, they eventually started working together after Front successfully enticed Relay into the world of drum ‘n’ bass. Their style, often described as liquid drum ‘n’ bass, has a lot in common with material from known acts like Makoto, Camo & Crooked and Netsky. The first title of this new single package, “Farewell Letter”, recently appeared on the soon to be released Snow Dance 001 compilation and has everything in it that marks their own sound, with live guitar and piano. The arrangement is elaborate and showcases an exciting combination of driving basslines, slightly mysterious piano programming and a merciless hammering breakbeat. Once the break sets in, the guys fade to a superb guitar lick that could have been played by The Cure; a given that adds that extra bit of atmosphere to the entire song. Perfect for the underground live sets.

The second title, “Farseer”, focuses a bit more on the harder side of Relay & Front’s sound. Once again our Baltic friends took their time to write an attractive arrangement for their synth programming, combined with swirly vocal samples. The chopped up drum fills make for a nice, rough edge to the end result, all the while staying close to the all over mystical feel of the entire production. It is clear that Relay & Front know how to deliver well prepared and ever so musical backing tracks with real instruments for today’s drum ‘n’ bass dance floors. Taylor made material for all DJs and soon to be found in a live set near you!

These track has already recieved support by many promoters such as 17tumba &amp; Liquid Drum &amp; Bass.

Relay & Front drop their new single on the Rub A Duck imprint entitled "Pictures of You". 

The producer duo from Finland and Estonia, together since 2011, is at it again. It was Front who successfully introduced Relay to the world of drum 'n' bass and the two have been delivering tightly produced singles ever since. Relay & Front's musical output, with similarities to the sound of acts like Camo & Crooked, Makoto and Netsky, usually is defined as liquid drum 'n' bass. Their previous single, "Farewell Letter", appeared on the acclaimed Snow Dance 001 compilation and was later on released as a single, including the second track "Farseer". Relay & Front have recently been assigned to produce remixes for Andain and Sickflip; in the meantime harvesting a lot of highly positive online response from the well established drum 'n' bass names. 

With their new single "Pictures of You", the boys manage to bring on a true high energy, atmospheric floor filler. Not shy to work with live guitar and piano in their arrangements, the single breathes an open but still slightly mysterious atmosphere and gives way to some smashing drum programming. And what might already be described as a trademark feature of the Relay & Front sound, "Pictures of You" contains an elaborate break that showcases another superb composition of synths, mixed with subtle guitar riffs; the perfect moment for every DJ to create a towering climax in their live performance. "Pictures of You" is one of those killer liquid drum 'n' bass cuts you simply can't work without.

Their style, often described as liquid drum ‘n’ bass, has a lot in common with material from known acts like Makoto, Camo &amp; Crooked and Netsky.

Long time before the summer of 2011 Mark-Ramon has already been playing the guitar for a huge period of time &amp; he often tried to produce music with computer but his productions were strongly limited by progressive trance &amp; house, he used his other alias “Nightrunner” for all progressive tunes he made, he even managed to release one of his tracks as single (Mega Noise released Big Boys Don’t Cry on 5 May). By the way Front was devoted fan of drum &amp; bass long before the time when UKF received his 1000 subscriber.

As the interest to music increased they started to discuss music production more often. Front was one of few guys whom Relay could send his work for feedback. Several times Front tried to entice Relay in the world of drum &amp; bass, but the result was achieved right after Relay got his copy of Drum&amp;BassArena Evolution compilation. It impressed boy so much that he decided to try himself in another genre. Nevertheless, he felt that he won’t be able to succeed without help of drum &amp; bass guru well experienced as front so that is how the project was created. 

Thanks to Front’s great drum &amp; bass experience of &amp; Relay’s huge interest in music production guys managed to develop their own side of drum &amp; bass with more real instruments such as guitars, pianos, flutes &amp; saxophones. Now their primary goal is producing more &amp; more, to be sure that their music is interesting and demanded.
