Gabriela was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, now based in New Orleans. Her sets range from Midwest styles of house and techno, to hard-hitting and minimal styles from Eastern European producers, breakbeat, baile funk, and experimental sounds that together create a visceral experience for the listener. Prior to trying her hand at DJing she spent years curating playlists of music dug from the corners of the internet, always mixing and matching the new and obscure with the classics. Her subversive style comes from her long established habit of digging for feeling rather than specific sound, and learning to select within the pocket where the two meet. Keep an open mind and ear during her set to be fully transported.
