"Firmly ensconced at underground dance’s top table, GMJ has matured into a powerful force. Returning to the Meanwhile imprint he founded with spiritual brother, Matter, “Empty to Fill” is an outstanding new offering.
 
An artist who has risen to prominence in both the live and production arenas, Gavin Griffin finds himself at the centre of an ever-vibrant Melbourne music scene. Home to a host of iconic names and a sound that helped define the progressive house genre in the 2000s, his GMJ moniker has continued to shape the modern progressive sound. With over 400 production credits to his name, a century alongside long-term partner, Matter, GMJ has seen his music adorn the likes of Balance Music, Anjunadeep and Proton Music.
 
Opening his solo account on Meanwhile with October 2020’s “Mood Medicine”, collaborative EPs with Matter have seen “Lost on Origin”, “The Path / Perfect Storm” and “Eldarin” light up the label, alongside remixes for Simos Tagias, Roger Martinez and Matter himself.
 
Opening with the title track, “Empty to Fill” is a chunky, subterranean groove-fuelled monster. Bristling with menacing vibe, lighter moments come courtesy of floating synth motifs that glide to the fore in a stripped back breakdown of delicate keys and gloriously delayed sequences. A pulsating white-noise riser heralds a return of the club-friendly groove and gorgeous melodic flow in the latter stages.
 
Continuing with the trademark rolling groove that watermarks the GMJ sound, “Door of Light” sparkles with arpeggiated backdrop and reverse-reverb vocal breaths. Evolving immaculately, stratified sonic layers flourish as they entwine together in organic fashion. Counterpoint motifs coruscate above pulsing white-noise swells as the aptly named track waxes and wanes in perfect dancefloor cadence, before reaching a rousing crescendo in an immersive sonic tapestry.
 
The final piece sees the popping percussive vibrancy of “Stage Flight” sit atop a stereo-panned bass groove. Building over its 7-minute duration, syncopated synth riffs lock tightly into the driving framework that reaches its culmination with a chorus of breathy pads and a drop back into the rolling bassline and mirrored synth sequence. The resultant track is a powerful snapshot straight out of the GMJ production playbook.
 
Chock full of rhythmic force and multi-faceted layers of sound, “Empty to Fill” displays a sparkling 24-carat hallmark of the GMJ sound."

Analog Jungs is a musical project from Córdoba, Argentina founded by Claudio Cornejo and Gustavo Ruarte. They recently released music on labels such as Mango Alley, Meanwhile, Songspire & The Soundgarden. For the remixes Kyotto,GastoM and Figueras got invited.

Transensations Records brings another remarkable collab of our label manager GORKIZ, this time with JFR, presenting the EP BREATH FOR LIFE , including remixes by FACUCIO and SCIPPO and MARTIN COZAR. Brazilian producer Gorkiz with recent releases on labels such as Meanwhile, Onedotsixtwo and Mango Alley joined forces with Argentinian producer JFR, with releases on Anjunadeep and others great labels, creating three original great tracks for this EP.
First track "Breath for Life", is a progressive delight rolled into nostalgic long pads, highlighting a profound atmosphere and melody in perfect balance. Argentinian rising producer Facucio delivered a powerful and grooved remix adding his fingerprint on the track. Next one is "Cleasing Meditation" with a denser and rhythmic ambience, creating a hypnotic atmosphere on the dancefloor. Argentinians producers Scippo and Martin Cozar collab for a stunning remix of Cleasing Meditation, presenting a mood change on the track with a "house" vibe perfect for the dancefloor. Closing the EP, Gorkiz and JFR presents "Secrets from the Underground" , an Intro ambient track, showing all the creativity and talent of these great producers.
These are tracks to keep the dancefloor connected and dancing, a must-have for the progressive house lovers.

It was time for the Argentine music producer and DJ, Federico Monachesi, to come to the label, the man who followed our label from the very beginning and supported almost every release!
It can be said that Federico is one of the leaders of the true group of "veterans" of the Argentinian music scene, so our pleasure is greater for this masterful EP that will adorn the shelves of our label.
"Alborz", as the EP is called, is a real example of old-skool progressive with a touch of new age sounds, and it can be said that it is a real club song. On remix duty we have two more debutants on One Of A Kind, and they are Callecat, a fusion between two Dutch guys who share their passion for music and create wonderful pieces of music, as well as the phenomenal Yudi Watanabe who comes to us from Campinas, Brazil!

A new label to enter the underground house milieu, Pillbox has a set of 24-carat gold credentials from which to cast its net over the global club scene. Owned and curated by Proton progenitor, Sam Packer, the label's first release sees a track from German and Lebanese talents. Remixes come from Australia and Germany.

An artist with a rich electronic music history, Chris Zippel has been immersed in the world of house since the age of 15. Splitting his time between Berlin and Ibiza, the German artist has taken centre stage with work alongside the Pet Shop Boys, Robbie Williams and Paul Van Dyk. With music signed to Ubersee Music, Allisum Records and GMJ & Matter's Meanwhile Horizons, Zippel continues to grow in stature. A rising star, renowned for her status as a leading Qanun player, Ghenwa Nemnom has combined her love of the traditional Middle Eastern instrument with an ability to use its unique sound in the world of dance music and the organic house sound found on such leading imprints as Café De Anatolia, Alt Orient and Melody of the Soul. Now joining forces for the first time, "To Follow" is an extraordinary track that drifts enticingly with gently rolling beat and deep 16th note sub bassline. In tandem, the beautifully plucked sound of Nemnom's Quanun reveals itself in a virtuoso performance. A whispering vocal phrase emerges at the mid-point before ambient effects and subtly placed arpeggio combine in the second half to spine-tingling and immaculately crafted effect.

Gavin Griffin needs no introduction to those familiar with the progressive house sound of the past 5 years. A leading light in the underground fraternity with his performance behind the decks and near 500 production credits for the like of Anjunadeep, Balance Music and Proton Music, the Australian artist continues to push boundaries, defining the modern progressive sound. Reworking "To Follow", the GMJ remix is dripping in trademark silky smooth melodies and rolling rhythmic underpinning. Building imperceptibly, a vocal sample from Zippel and Nemnom's original creates a melodic peg from which to hang a glorious analogue synth motif. The cadenced phrase shimmers across the stereo spectrum as layer of pads and counterpoint motifs create an uplifting sonic experience. Using the fundamental harmonic themes from "To Follow", the track builds post-breakdown into a glorious sonic collage that showcases GMJ's technique and talent to the full.
