Vancouver’s @destratavan debuts on Scuffed Recordings with three warping, club-ready tracks. 

In his short career so far, Destrata has worked with a who’s who of essential underground labels, making his debut in 2021 on Martyn’s seminal 3024 with the hybrid drum workout ‘Bait & Switch’. 

Now making his first appearance on London’s Scuffed Recordings, Destrata offers up three new tracks on the Mutationist EP.

On the title track, Destrata lays out a statement of intent with chopped vocals, lurching bass and tension-building synths.

London-based producer @andydufraine kicks off 2024 on Scuffed Recordings with three new stomping hybrid electro tracks on his Uber XL EP.

Continuing the sounds Dufraine has explored on previous solo efforts for labels like APE-X and Fantastic Voyage, and his Pleasure Corp project alongside Shawn Cartier, the Uber XL EP features three darker, harder-edged tracks taking in influences from artists like Miss Kittin and The Hacker alongside sounds inspired by UK bass, dubstep, and techno.

The EP kicks off with the four-to-the-floor aggression of ‘Wake’, driven along by a warping acid bassline.

Icelandic-born, London-based INGI first appeared on Scuffed in 2022 with his Fade EP, an exploration of breaks, percussion and bass weight which saw support from the likes of object blue, Surgeon, Breaka, and Manami.

Since then, INGI has honed his skills as an artist and DJ, as a co-founder of London party and label Elastics, and resident at “your favourite festival’s favourite festival” Floorless. INGI’s sound is a love letter to the London and Manchester scenes that he came up in, flitting between UK club influences but impossible to pin down to one sound alone.

Theorist - Xchange

@krotone brings his unmistakable brand of garage and breaks to Scuffed Recordings on his 16 Deck EP.

Leeds-based producer Krotone is one of the most unique producers working in garage and breaks in recent years, with releases on labels like DEXT, Of Paradise, and DPR, alongside appearances at Outlook Festival and some of his hometown’s most prominent venues.

Krotone’s sound flits between 2-step UKG and breakbeat with a healthy serving of groove, bass weight and dub influence. Produced on a hardware setup, Krotone’s sound is shot through with an upfront rawness that makes his tracks stand out in a crowded field.

His 16 Deck EP features three new tracks, from the the lurching swing of opener ‘Watch’, to the satisfyingly wobbly title track, and closing with the taut, stuttering 4x4 and spaced-out dub chords of ‘Original’.

Londoner @ddanvers brings three new turbo-charged hardware jams to Scuffed Recordings on his ‘Living In The Sends’ EP.

Danvers’ productions have been building pace over recent years and he has gained a reputation for his intricately-produced but high-octane club tracks, both as a solo artist and as part of the duo Kassian.

As a solo artist, Danvers has built a diverse catalogue, appearing on labels like Fantastic Voyage - where he released his debut album ‘Gently Ascending’ in 2022 - as well as Holding Hands, SlothBoogie, and CoOp Presents. As part of Kassian, Danvers has released on such labels as K7, Shall Not Fade, 17 Steps, alongside running their own label Faux Poly.

On the ‘Living In The Sends’ EP, Danvers expands his explorations into hardware-focussed production, describing the release as ‘experiments crossing in between different genres’.
