"Shade, the 7th instalment from Test Your Might comes with an unusually deeper vibe. Think along the lines of post-dub future sound, but much more impactful in a club setting with an almighty retro 8-bit style bassline driving through the track. Jazzy MJ Cole reminiscent keys and Chords keep the deepness and musicality moving, helping to subdue the otherwise untamed beast like Black Widow taming the Hulk. Should certainly be a staple in the  "Garage heads and connoisseur" sets, or when the MC wants to get deep and wax lyrical life stories.
Might kicks of 2020 with an atomic blast. This single comes jam-packed with garage, grime, bassline and everything in-between, oozing UK. Expect big things from this one - Deep and melodic but rough and ready at the same time. Gamma infused artillery designed for club warfare."

Angry & potent bars are delivered 10 fold as Rame demands attention from the listener over this UK Funky meets Grime beat from Fork & Knife. Such a strong track could only be supported by equally impressive remixes, including this one from On1 who has taken the original track and given it a classic sounding Garage flip. This song is undoubtedly an exiting addition to the recent resurgence of UK Garage.

Premiere: Rame X Fork And Knife - Test Me [On1 Remix]

Downplay is proud to welcome South West production duo Earthnut to the label with their brand new release, ‘Protosynthesis’.

‘Hollow Man’ rolls out on sprightly keys and chopped beats before unfolding into a pitch perfect UKG shuffler that manages to pack oscillating chords, sugar sweet female vocals, punchy bass and a cheeky sample that will raise a wry smile, all into one sublime track.

‘Knucklethump’ provides an even smoother mood to it’s predecessor with a jazzed-out top-line and bumpy percussion that is precision-tooled to get waists winding, before expanding even further in it’s final third with some seriously spicy creative touches to keep the dancefloor jumping.

‘Gunker’ is likely to be the track that really open some ears though, with it’s left-field assimilation of the UKG template into something utterly new but captivating. Reminiscent of the Compost-era broken beat sound, but manipulated into something closer to a subtle dub techno vibe, it defies labeling but is indicative of creative minds reaching their full potential as artists.
