"I wanted to create a high energy track with a powerful main drop, which is how "Kayhatsu" was born. The combination of the rolling bass and the main 303 line creates a driving and
majestic experience. The name "Kayhatsu" is Japanese for "first time".
For "Something Inside" I had the vocal in my head before starting the track. I used a robotic text to speech voice to create the vocal, which I then heavily modified. The Synth Lead that is introduced in the main break gives the track the additional epic dimension."

As Victor Ruiz’s VOLTA imprint heads towards its first anniversary, the label prepares to welcome back a frequent contributor in the form of Berlin-based techno titan Alex Stein. With an impressive catalogue of releases on many of the genre’s most-respected labels, Stein is back on VOLTA with yet another masterful display of diversely captivating techno prowess in the form of “Tunnel Vision” - an all-encompassing three-track EP.

Starting with the title cut, “Tunnel Vision” is a pacy, dancefloor-ready, melodic masterclass. Riding a tide of arpeggiating musical elements from the outset, this combination of futuristic techno, electro and breakbeat, which comes packed to the hilt with firm grooves, interplanetary vocals and ripping sonics, will have you energised and moving from start to finish with ease.

“Dopemine 23” comes next, cutting a darker, more assertive line. Another stellar exhibition of robust drum sequencing and gripping musical arrangement keeps you locked into this vampiric acid techno stomper as it continuously cranks up the heat.

The release ends on “Reson8”, completing the trifecta of potent mainstage techno warheads. A duck and dive of rippling bass and thumping drums, laced with fleeting ominous vocals and hissing percussive drive, combining to carve out a high-octane peak-time bomb.

Panamanian DJ/Producer Bruce Zalcer is undeniably one of South America’s most exciting Techno talents. With an impressive catalogue of releases on labels like Tronic, Odd Recordings, Kneaded Pains, Riot Recordings and many more, Bruce is primed for his debut outing on Victor Ruiz’s increasingly popular VOLTA imprint. His two-track “Catharsis” EP, set for release on 27th October, gives us another worthy slice of Zalcer’s dynamic production skills, showcasing an immense depth of creativity.
Kicking things off with the title cut, “Catharsis” sports an immersive blend of celestial musicality and urgent Techno rhythms. Firm drum grooves and hissing hat sequences drive the central core of the track as it bleeds in and out of several atmospheric soundscapes and climactic crescendos to carve out a corrosive and intense acid-tinged peak-time bomb.
Next up, “Truly Yours” completes the release with another masterful display of captivating arrangement and mainstage energy. Emphasising its intricate core of layered pads, sirenic vocals and raw synth lines, its continuum of rolling tonal percs and weighty beat structure bring everything together to complete an imposing VOLTA debut for Zalcer.
