Based in Washington, DC, USA, TonalTheory is a self-taught duo producer/DJ who brings their modern take on the fusion of powerful, high-energy techno soundscapes and percussions. Lending an homage to their classical backgrounds, their versatility and vision captivate audiences of all genres of music.

With numerous local and international releases, the duo launched their own label, Undertone, in 2021. Undertone embodies their signature high-energy techno sound while bending genre boundaries and hopes to serve as a platform for like-minded producers to showcase their artistry. Recent releases from Undertone have generated support from multiple industry-leading producers. 

Their time in the studio producing cutting-edge and forward-thinking techno has earned them a place in some of the industry's notable labels/catalogs, including What Were You Thinking? EP on Divine Intervention Records, Confidential Movement EP on Say What?, Avoid The Light EP on SINDEX, Obscure Horizon EP on Ōtomo, and many other single releases on labels such as SUBSTANTIV, T Sessions, GRF Black, Rated Records, and many more. Their work has also been recognized and featured by Washington Post, EDM Identity, and XTINA, which added to their success as producers on the rise. 

Performing everywhere from warehouse raves to clubs and festivals, and headlining their own shows across North America, their DJ sets are signified by relentless hard-hitting techno that simultaneously takes their listeners on a cathartic journey. Their sound has left lasting and impactful impressions in every city they have played. As residents of Washington DC's leading techno and trance project team, Synthesis, and co-founder of Decibel Collective, they have played support for some of the biggest names in the industry of both techno and trance alike, including Caravel, Julia Govor, Sara Landry, ØTTA, Daria Kolosova, Felicie, Charlotte de Witte, Stella Bossi, Dubfire, Indira Paganotto, Tapefeed, Renegade System, John Askew, Greg Downey, David Rust, Christopher Lawrence, Alan Fitzpatrick, Nicole Moudaber, Green Velvet, Laidback Luke, Sharam, and Victor Calderone, which has solidified their presence in the scene as artists to look out for.

Starting his roots in Los Angeles, CONCEPT 370 has been in the electronic dance scene since the early age of 13. He mentioned to us, “Ever since finding this scene, each day has changed my life thanks to the diversity in the underground lifestyle”. At age 17, he was given the chance to give back to the scene and show off his skill-set to the L.A. underground. Concept 370 is what we are all about here at TechnoFam LA, community & culture first!

With music influences such as: Danny Tenaglia, Micheal Kruck, Nicole Moudaber, Victor Calderone, Chris Liebing & Richie Hawtin, Concept has been influenced by many DJ’s in his career. He stated that by discovering the Techno sound it led him to find the likes of many different DJs & producers throughout the years, allowing him to fine tune his own sound and minor details in his production. Lately, Concept has been focused on pushing his career forward with 2AM Techno and FFFUUNNN as a resident DJ and working on producing his own Techno! Passengers is a VA sub-division of Simina Grigoriu’s Kuukou Records which has so far platformed emerging artists from Turkey, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Italy, Russia and the UK. Each record across the 10 additions to the series so far has been functional and direct;
Techno with sufficient force to power warehouse dance floors and big room club spaces. No. 11 in the series is a 3-track EP including tracks from Anina Owly & Thomas Klipps, Fruhwerk and Alec Ben & Paul Division. German duo Anina Owly & Thomas Klipps kick things off. Hailing from Freiburg, the pair have respectively racked up a slew of punchy, minimal records and are both very versed in working together to move dance floors. 'Capybara' is a stripped back but frenetic jam that churns through mangled frequencies, explosive tones and a kick that rolls like a tank. Mannheim / Vienna based Frühwerk then follows up releases on Solamente, Set About, Reload Records and EXTIMA with a fast-paced rocket which contrasts stone-clad drums with pop vocals and a certain 90s nostalgia. Alec Ben and Paul Division then close things off with a magnetic, dubby banger. Drums are neat, heavy and forthright as that smack under a synth that crashes and rolls like a turbulent sea. Stabs and vocal hints bring in a psychedelic element towards the end of a multifaceted release which can be pulled out of the bag across the beginning, middle and end of a memorable party.
