this is not a megalovania.
I just want to get that out of the way.
originally it was very inspired by many, and still is on some level, but it's meant to be its own song in the soundtrack.
anyway, this song was originally made by the co-owner of my project, DialingDock2. though overtime, I guess he lost interest in finishing it after a few tries. so I made it one of my goals to finish at least what I imagined, with my limited skills.
and so, after about 17 or so updates, this is the finished result, at least with what I could work with on modbox (due to a lack of being able to use FL studio.)
personally, I always saw this as having more of a... Jojo protag style. like Jotaro's theme for example. so just very jazzy and kind of aggressive.
which is kind of fitting to the character this is made for, which I will explain now.
so, the character; P.I. Edmund Z. Skeuleo. he's pretty much the most popular detective there is in his world, or at least from his region. he's well known for many things; using old methods of investigation and deduction, his comic books (not published by him but approved), his merchandise, and even his own small series of books that he wrote on the side. all in all, he's a very upfront and active guy that a lot of people either obsess over, moderately respect, or downright hate.
Not many people really know what goes on when he's by himself, but there are rumors about his past.
And they're not particularly good ones.

theme of The Admiral, a strange figure that is considered criminal by the government, but displays an odd level of distance while also being very empathetic and caring towards people nearby, often utilizing his army of fellow masked people with musical instruments and weapons of mass destruction to provide help.

pretty much the original song I used to make the approach, as you might expect.
area is probably going to get a thumbnail for the track, but basically it's this slightly inward embedded, strangely ape-shaped city of sci-fi nightmares, designed mostly for robots, androids, stripped-up computer pcs, and more forms of AI- it's a little confusing overall considering the circumstances leading up to this, but there's plenty of things to do, and it would probably serve as a strange in between point of one of the high parts of the story.
I kind of tried to represent that with the music, as well as what I hope is a sort of techno/EDM style
I admit I was also inspired by black/liquid neography from Homestuck lmao-


also is it much to ask that I wouldn't mind some more musicians interested in making music?
eh, whatever.
but yeah if anyone's interested in making music, here's the clarification that I am desperately in need of people for that, and my standards are moderate enough that you don't need to be perfect, just capable of a few things n whatnot.

it is unfortunate to say I will be shelving the original version until further notice.
primarily because it's place it was originally made for felt too intense for what is essentially a tutorial section.
this however feels much more appropriate as a tutorial section theme.
hopefully it captures the same essence of wonder and excitement that you would get upon starting the game, and learning about some of the pivotal game mechanics that would benefit you throughout the story.

rest assured though that I will hold on to the original theme with the intent of it resurfacing later on, including a new description when it does return to explain what it's for by then.
I enjoyed it for the energy it brought, and so I intend to not just throw it into the trash.
we here at team root are big on recycling all the ideas we have to the best of our ability (but trust me, there's plenty of unused stuff still)

throughout the story, ice faces off against their "Shade"
the term itself is subjective, as this happens across all routes. however, the stats and appearance of the shade changes based on your choices.

I made the song.
my inspiration was actually based on a mashup of Avatar Best and the Omori fight theme.
both are kind of a basis for the shades concept it you cross the situations of the bad batter and Omori together.

also I may have pulled from Passport Guardian at the beginning, no other reference to be pulled from that scenario, haha.

this was originally an idea started by one of my longtime friends and team members, Spudward!
that cookie little sack of Irish gold recommended the idea of a cult that dresses like medieval beekeepers and worships the "bees"to the point of carrying them around in jars, eating them, and forcing others to eat them.
I expanded on this idea from a potentially small encounter and instead made it a part of the main story by connecting it to one of my new characters, Dr Sagittarius. not much can be said about him, except that he's fruity and I like to imagine he sounds like Ranboo.
he also looks like a tiny plague doctor in a dress. he's technically not officially the leader of the vehicle, but due to being the most coherent person, he does the indirect job of leading them.

I won't go into too deeply how the protagonist ended up in this area, but it's considerably one of the more friendly places because doctor Sagittarius and the cult of bees have a specific set of intentions that line up with yours and the grand scheme of things.
the area itself is basically a giant futuristic airship that is equivalent to a shopping mall on assembled, but separates into smaller beehive-shaped ships, that travels across the world. it's very sticky though.
there's more to it, but I think that's a good starting description.

this project started as a meme. a self insert, as well.
but since then its progessively turned into a more unique project.
you could call it an Undertale au, but i call it a project with inspiration from Undertale primarily, but also OFF, and Homestuck, and TimeOut, and honestly stuff from the UT fandom itself. lots of great ideas often scrapped or great for inspiration.

as for what this projects lore is about, let me tell you a story:

imagine you're running through a forest a night. 
you're lost, and you're scared. 
you don't know where you are going, 
but you know you need to get away. 

"away from what?" you ask? the monsters of the dark that are chasing you. 

they want to capture you and take you back. 

"back to where?"
well.....some things shouldn't be talked about. 

but ultimately, you end up finding a wall. 
and so you do the smartest thing you can think of; 
you climb it. 

and while climbing it, you see an opening. 
it looks like it was clawed or blown through with force. 

and on the other side? you se-

you fell through the other side.

    you keep falling, 
                 and falling, 
                          and falling...


and then you wake up. in a bed of flowers. it seems to be a nice garden maybe. its full of colorful flowers of all sorts. but among them, you spot a form seemingly hiding from you.

do you investigate or will you just get up and trek onward carelessly?

do you want to seek refuge and peace of mind in a cruel world, or make the world bleed tears and drip guts as you make it feel your pain?
