On 24-25th March 2016, the The University of Edinburgh hosted an academic seminar celebrating 30 years of Pet Shop Boys. Called Pet Shop Boys Symposium, this event was a unique and compelling stroll through history of the most successful UK pop duo of all time.

I was contacted by the organisers of the Symposium to DJ an exclusive 3 hour Pet Shop Boys set to close out the event. The set, called “Encomium: 1986 - 2016” included classic remixes and tracks from the entire Pet Shop Boys discography, from "Please" (1986) through "Super" (2016). To commemorate the experience, as well as celebrate the 30th anniversary of “Please” and the release of “Super”, I’m releasing the mix as a stream on Soundcloud, Mixcloud, and the Remarkable Podcast. New Order - Here To Stay (Remark Communication mix)

After the previous intense trance release, Run 3, it felt like a good time to revisit some grooving progressive house that had been brewing for a while. Excursion was inspired by journeys at night — the ride going out to a club, the journey of the evening, and the sonic adventure of the dancefloor itself. The mix kicks in right away with a galloping pace. Vocals cruise in about 45 minutes into the groove and then as the mix nears the 3 hour mark, it accelerates with a vengeance before climaxing on an emotional and nostalgic tip. Be sure to carry the feeling all the way through and experience this remarkable Excursion from start to finish.
