Danny Wabbit returns to the forefront with Manic, a carefully crafted five track EP that serves as a visceral journey through the psychological spectrum of the dancefloor.

The EP opens with the unexpected: 'Fear Is Nothing But A Tool', a cinematic dubstep intro to set a dark, preparatory tone. It then ignites with the title track 'Manic', a hypnotic and powerful techno cut built to induce peak-time frenzy.

Stripping techno back to its raw essence, 'Severed' delivers a minimalist homage to the genre's warehouse roots. This raw intensity then gives way to the meditative groove of 'Breath Work', a track centered on calming, pulsating rhythms. The EP closes with the soulful and uplifting vibes of 'That One House Track', the perfect euphoric finale to a long night.

German duo Obscure Shape & SHDW drop three robust Techno tracks in their first full release on Rekids this May.

One of the most exciting acts in Techno today, Obscure Shape & SHDW are the founders of From Another Mind - the label and party series making waves in South-Germany. Aside from Rekids, where they remixed Radio Slave’s ‘Vision’ last year, the pair’s abilities in the studio have seen them invited by Slam for two separate remixes of Monoloc and Envoy on Soma, with more projects to be announced.

‘Himmel Und Erde’ is a cavernous cut boasting colossal kicks and skipping percussion before a tantalising melody comes into play. ‘Am Ende Der Welt’ is more deep and atmospheric in comparison, blending dusky percussion with echoing synths until ‘Gefallene Engel’ demonstrates syncopated drums and an otherworldly hook that conjure up a mesmerising aesthetic to conclude the release.

The whirlwind force that is Tom Hades and Loose Records team up for the new EP “Goya,” a collection of two new tracks as well as a remix by Hush & Sleep. One of Belgium’s proudest sons, Hades has seen his accomplishments stacked high since starting his own label “Rhythm Convert” in 2004. With tracks released by the likes of Drumcode and MB Electronics, Hades brings world-tour chops to his music, which is on full display with this newest release. “Goya” - Quick-footed high-hats sprint across a backdrop of epic bass drums, laying a track that wastes no time in opening the floodgates for a diverse arrangement of effects that range from dreamy to dungeon dark. Surprising and lively at every turn, the energy levels never take a break on this track, offering a ride that is sure to only get more enjoyable on repeat listens.
 
“Goya (Hush & Sleep Remix)” - Seizing listeners immediately with an opener overflowing with tech house energy, the track punches hard and then opens onto a landscape of nuanced mastery, aiming for higher than a simple club banger and delivering on this goal wonderfully. Exactly one year after his debut ‘The Eyes’ for BPitch Berlin, ‘Ego Wars’ is the follow-up EP of the exceptional Spanish artist Regal. With the three tracks (as well as a remix by the Frenchman Hadone) Gabriel Cassina shows again why he is one of the most prominent techno acts of our time. After releasing acid-infused rave tracks like ‘Overground’, which last year became an outstanding signature track not only in Ellen Allien’s DJ sets, he now combines radically fast beats with trance-influenced melodies on the ‘Ego Wars’ EP. The tracks convey the same passion that you could hear on his previous releases on his own label Involve, but they are also partially entering a new stylistic territory, triggered by his move from Madrid to Barcelona last year.

According to Cassina, the name of the EP and the title track ‘Ego Wars’ is not only closely linked to strong feelings of frustration, redemption and love, he clearly also knows how to express these intensities musically. ‘Ego Wars’ is a high-performance rave track with an uncompromisingly twisting, distorted bassline and a theme that sounds like an echo from a Detroit techno-dystopia. Cassina shows a seriousness and strength here that has never been heard of him in this way before. A2 number ‘Anhedonia’ begins with Regal’s typically hard-hitting groove until a super euphoric trance melody floods the brain with serotonin - a musical dichotomy that Cassina repeatedly transforms into pure rave ecstasy here.


‘Fuck Making Love’ on the B-side then absorbs the energy of ‘Anhedonia’ and transfers it into something a little brighter - until an almost oriental-sounding melody pushes the track in a completely unexpected direction - a real exceptional track in Regal’s extensive discography! The French DJ and producer Hadone, who recently released an EP on Shlømo’s label Taapion, finally turns ‘Fuck Making Love’ into a summerly raving uptempo neo trance hymn, rounding off this EP in the best possible way.
