This years Shambhala Music Festival was my 10th year playing in the Fractal Forest. It was a blast, and I thank the thousands of people who came out to party with all of us.

Sychosis has spent a lifetime in the music industry. As a classically trained musician he spent his youth touring Europe and North America. He caught the dance music bug at 18 and has steadily built a career that spans music, media and technology. As a DJ he’s played small and large rooms alike with gigs at major festivals like EDC Vegas and as far away as Vietnam. His bass heavy beats have caught the attention of everyone from Marten Hørger to DJ Craze and Tommy Trash to Billy Kenny. Sychosis - Secret Stash

Here is the set that I made for my annual performance at Shambhala Music Festival. As always I have poured my heart and soul into making the best set I could, and this year, like every year, it was an amazing time. Thanks to the few thousand people who came to hear it live, and Rich E Rich / Fractal Forest for having me back to play, 8 years counting.


I’d like to also say thanks to all the artists / labels who sent me upfront music, stems, acapellas and anything else I could get out of them… haha. Without you guys I wouldn’t be able to make the arrangements that I do. Almost everything in this set is my own edit for arrangement or what I needed the music to do, but on the track list I have listed the original tracks instead of putting “edit” beside everything...


I sincerely hope you enjoy the music. I’ll be working hard over the next few months writing new records, and getting ready for next years tours…

COPYCATT has been redefining production and engineering paradigms in bass music  for the last four years and running. His obtuse, frequency-splitting textures and stylistic groove have been a constant inspiration for today’s incoming producers and audiophiles. Through an abundance of online tutorials and streams, he’s made an indelible impact on the sound design and production processes favored by his contemporaries. On top of such a massive influence across the underground music spectrum, he’s in the prime of his life; at 22 years old, his music has travelled across continents and sound systems, spreading low-end gospel from sea to sea.   

For this edition of Rusted Rhythms, he’s graciously provided an exclusive mix of unreleased music from his growing stash. It’s a brash, boisterous dive into potent bass lines and head-nod rhythms. Last week, we published an interview with COPYCATT as a companion piece to this Rusted Rhythms, talking about everything from perspective to writing processes. When I was approached with the idea to create an end of the year mix, I immediately knew I wanted to create something that summarized my year behind the decks, as a "thank you" to all the people who experienced it with me. Fleeting dancefloor moments are hard to capture, but I've tried to pack this one full of musical highlights from this year's gigs. To that end, I've included some recent releases that caught my ear, several exclusive dancefloor edits, some faves from the recent Illeven:Eleven Recordings catalog, as well as a sprinkling of what to expect next from myself and my favorite artists continuously pumping out awesome new music.
