We sang this old song in Goa [an ex-Portuguese colony in India] in our youth. Without even knowing what Madeira or Açores [Portuguese territories in the Atlantic Ocean] looked like. But now that I've been to São Miguel, an incredibly beautiful natural paradise in the Azores, I couldn't help but record it. Just for fun. For my own nostalgic pleasure, and to give it away for free. Tried to keep it as authentic as possible, using only acoustic instruments played on these islands at that time.
