'Substance Therapy' is the second single lifted from the upcoming 'Divas & Demons' album by REMI

Remi on "Substance Therapy" says, "depression is a demon in a scream mask, brandishing a hunting knife. When I take drugs, or drink it's the equivalent of giving that motherfucker the coordinates to my house. It just makes everything so much worse. This is basically the sound of coming down."

And from Sensible J, "this joint is supposed to sound hectic and anxious, to match the lyrical content from Rem. Very repetitive with the lil sample chops, and heavy bass stabs done on a Moog "Lil Phatty" by the man Dutch (peace bro!) When Rem added the "Blow your money" singing, I had to step up and add some changes to the bass notes. This beat has been sitting around for 3-4 years, and I'm glad it's going on this release. The drums have changed 3 times (shout out to DJ Manchild for the bday 45 and the open drum break on it! shhhhhhhh)."

Melbourne artist REMI and musical collaborator Sensible J are one of the fastest-rising Hip Hop acts in Australia and are quickly gaining the attention of international tastemakers. 

REMI's new album 'Divas and Demons' is officially out now.  Out on REMI’s imprint, House of Beige, the sixteen-track sophomore LP features the widely loved, triple j high-rotation ‘singles ‘For Good' featuring Sampa the Great, 'Substance Therapy’, and the most recent single 'Lose Sleep' ft. Jordan Rakei. 
 
A hip-hop and soul release at its core, 'Divas and Demons' explores REMI’s personal experiences from the state of race issues, to the personal demons of relationship breakdowns, depression and the ongoing challenges faced as an artist. Incorporating an array of live instrumentation, found-sounds and soulful electronics – the production terrain of the record shifts towards diverse musical exploration, anchored within head-nodding, soul shaking beats.
 
An LP of inimitable storytelling and unique production, Divas and Demons features some of Australia’s brightest hip-hop and soul artists. Simon Mavin (Hiatus Kaiyote), Sampa Tembo (Sampa the Great), Jordan Rakei, Baro, Silent Jay, Tom Scott (Average Rap Band), Lorry (Hiatus Kaiyote), Nui Moon and Cazeaux O.S.L.O. (Man Made Mountain) all lend their talents to various moments throughout the record.
 
'Divas and Demons' proves again REMI’s raw brand of storytelling and deft production is set to entertain the world’s stage and over.

The first single from the album is “For Good” featuring Sampa The Great is the first taste from their upcoming album Divas and Demons, due for release later this year. “For Good” is soulful track that features Sampa’s raw and powerful poetry while her voice sits mesmerizingly alongside REMI’s inimitable take on hip hop.
