Daydream

This was written for the Piano Soundboard Unchained Melody challenge. The challenge, to write a melody for the left hand which is supported by the right hand, is something I enjoy doing! I often like to explore the sonority that a left hand melody can bring. Here, I have kept things simple so that the melody can easily sing through. 


Drifting Away

With the piano leading the melody, this track explores how the past influences the present with only a few drops (melodies) you can end up with an endlessly diverse canvas that sometimes seems like ordered chaos.  It is a contemplative original composition that starts and ends with the same simple phrase.

Ripples in Time

The first piece that I composed in Musescore between 9 and 15th of October 2016, in order to get to know this software. The first part is almost entirely white keys. Later on, when I got used to Musescore, more and more black keys can be heard. This soundfile is a midi output from Musescore.

Human Gnome Project prt 2

The full NeWorX concert at the Gamelanhuis in Amsterdam, January 28th 2018. With three world premières and the first Amsterdam composition for Philippine kulintang and Balinese gongs.

The program:
1 - Theme X (piano solo)
In which the main theme of the event is introduced. Theme X features several times throughout the whole concert in different forms.

2 - Gong Kulintang (starting 3m 15 appr.)
in 2015 we were given a set of kulintangs and other Philippine instruments and this would result in our first ever collective composition. A combination of Philippine kulintang and percussion instruments with Balinese gongs.

3 - MeanderLust (11m 19)
A new composition by Jessica Polak in which we're taken on a trip with ever changing vistas. Theme X originates from this piece.

4 - Stretch my Timeline (19m 08)
A flex composition by Renadi Santoso in which improvisation is the main concept.

5 - Trë (33m 36)
Composition by Jeroen Sep. He was inspired by the small tinkly musical boxes of our youth. And by another youthful heavyweight... See if you can spot that one!

6 - Imprint (39m 14)
Composition by Renadi Santoso. Progrock is the genre and doom, action, a tight chase and reflection are the inspirations.


The concert was taped on a ModBook with Logic Pro and two mic's (AKG, Røde). Audio from divers video sources were incorporated. Produced and edited by Takrok of BangkiraiPro Music.
