Brazilian multi-instrumentalist & producer Maty Owl has captured the eyes & ears of global dancers. 2022 was a standout year for Maty, unveiling sensational projects with Saisons and Timeless Moments, plus a tantalizing remix of Erdi Irmak right here on XYZ. We are thrilled to welcome Maty Owl to our TOR with his debut EP on the label - Astral Friend.

On the A-side, White Room opens with crisp percussives and lush landscapes of sound. Afro tones flow seamlessly into the mix, with chopped vocal hooks balanced by pristine piano melodies. A bountiful bassline greets a punchy kick, offering a blissful dancefloor number for the finest of selectors & dancers alike. 

On the flip, Astal Friend welcomes progressive prominence, as effervescent & elongated synthetics capture the imagination. Surging sounds ebb & flow as Owl’s ominous tones ignite the night with afterhours flavors.

Closing out the project is VS, offering a middle ground between it’s two predecessors. Swirling synths rest upon rising melodies, elevating energy to a peak while the bassline goes to work.

Josh Butler and José Rosa, the duo behind the hit record 'Got A Feeling', are returning with another stunning release under their Maritime Yacht Club project. The next single, 'Change', is a showcase of the duo's creative prowess, blending immersive electronic influences with loose grooves to create a silky deep house cut that boasts rich melodies and dreamy vocal injections.

Maritime Yacht Club is the brainchild of UK artist and Origins Rcrds label boss Josh Butler, alongside longtime friend and talented singer/songwriter and producer José Rosa. Their first major project together, 'Got A Feeling', celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2013 and has received an incredible amount of accolades since its release, including winning an award for the biggest-selling track of 2013 on Beatport.

Their forthcoming twelve-track debut album, set to be released in 2023, promises to deliver sultry, vocal-led dance cuts with elements of deep house, breaks, jazz, electro, and much more. The project was born during the lockdown in 2020, providing an outlet for José and Josh to collaborate during a difficult time. The result is a diverse and exciting body of work that is sure to fuel standout dancefloor moments for years to come.

José comments, "We wanted to create a concept that was different to anything else out there. We felt combining vocal-led underground house and commercial sounds would create a unique and captivating result. This project has been a long time coming, and we are very proud to have accomplished this together."

With 'Change' set to drop on 31 March 2023, fans can look forward to more single releases from the album as the duo continues to showcase their impressive creative capability.
