From an ancient city split in two by the Rhine, Danito & Athina have risen majestically out of their Cologne home with a distinctive sound that has captured the hearts and minds of fans and peers alike. Describing themselves as "connected souls tuned as one", the charismatic German pair now make their debut on Darin Epsilon’s imprint Perspectives Digital with the magnificent "Pontos" EP.

Weaving a magical spell for over two decades, Danito has found his predominantly techno and tech-based work signed to a host of high profile imprints. Partners for several years, Athina adds another dimension to the pair’s work as a respectable producer and singer/songwriter in her own right. No better is this musical alchemy illustrated than on a host of prestigious imprints that include Stil Vor Talent, Crossfrontier Audio, and Plattenbank, supported by a DJ elite that includes Solomun, Hernan Cattaneo, and Oliver Koletzki.

Now debuting on Perspectives, "Pontos" is a wonderfully crafted track whose intricate percussive groove combines organic elements with strong, evolving rhythms. A dynamic bassline plays a central role and a shimmering arpeggio pans slowly across the stereo spectrum to add a delicious melodic layer. Modulated pads and a counterpoint lead impress further. Partner track "Satori" retains the same rhythmic prowess as its predecessor. A melodic collage sits atop with pin-sharp precision as subtle motifs and chord progressions play off each other to sublime effect. The result is a track that evolves delicately to an imperceptible zenith by the latter stages.

Accompanied by a single remix, two icons of the underground dance scene join forces to rework the lead track "Pontos". The combined portfolio of famed Spanish producer, D-Formation, and legendary French producer, Rick Pier O’Neil, is in the thousands and features on such leading labels as Suara, Toolroom, Yoshitoshi, Platipus, and Sony. The duo return to Perspectives Digital after remixing "That Vibe" by Roger Martinez, which went on to become one of the label’s highest-selling tracks of 2016.  Their remix of "Pontos" is a dynamic, growling affair that immediately shows its dancefloor credentials with a heavy techno beat and shuffling hi-hat percussion. Using the bassline theme so resonant in the original as a central pillar, D-Formation & RPO’s remix erupts with a huge searing lead line that cuts through the mix like an acetylene torch through steel. Pausing for breath at the midpoint, the LFO siren of the original is used to create a rousing crescendo for the track’s denouement to play out in electrifying fashion as rhythm and melody combine in glorious harmony.

MNL is back with another release that is set to gain massive support from the progressive house scene. This time the Manual Music subsidiary presents the new single by Colombian heavy weights Kamilo Sanclemente and Golan Zocher who can do no wrong lately with an impressive output of brilliant releases on a wide array of infamous labels.

The guys have teamed up with vocalist Velveta which resulted in 'My Shelter', a dreamy and warm production that will appeal to many for sure. As expected the production is on point with these guys, as they've delivered two versions for us to choose from.

Berliners Budakid and Jonas Saalbach first played their euphoric “Nautique” collaboration at the komm schon Alter festival last summer, and it caught Eelke Kleijn’s ear who signed it to his DAYS Like NIGHTS imprint. A rather large remix of the track is reportedly in the works as well.  

“Nautique” is released tomorrow, February 22nd.

Nick Brennan’s Tripswitch journey through electronic music reconvenes in 2018 with his recently launched onedotsixtwo label’s next unique artistic step forward. The platform’s third, highly anticipated release – ‘Voight Kampff’ – is, perhaps, the finest track so far from the occasional, intensely creative collaborative project joining Nick Warren and Tripswitch. This outstanding package is further bolstered with an exceptional set of remix interpretations courtesy of Cid Inc. and Öona Dahl. 

The two Nicks first connected back in 2006, when Warren licensed two Tripswitch tracks for his (now classic) Global Underground ‘GU30 Paris’ compilation. Over time they became good friends, with Warren becoming something of a mentor to Brennan, and with their musical tastes so aligned going right back to the 1980’s, it was inevitable that a studio partnership would develop when the time was right. Having first remixed Joey Fehrenbach ‘Wolves’ (The Soundgarden), their powerful studio chemistry then saw their debut original track ‘Savannah’ appear on Hernan Cattaneo’s ‘Balance presents Sudbeat’ comp, before being released as a single on the Sudbeat label and going on to become one of the hottest progressive releases of 2017. 

Cid Inc.'s music is already embedded deep in the hearts of many electronic music fans. Recent releases on Sudbeat, Lost & Found, Perspectives Digital, the wonderfully esoteric Armadillo label, as well as his own Replug Records, are some of the latest examples of his exceptional craftsmanship. Cid Inc. always looks to compose something that is not only profoundly memorable but also deeply moving, and as such, is a perfect artist to reinterpret ‘Voight Kampff’. The Swedish DJ/Producer with an uncompromising passion to create a contemporary, cutting edge sound, exhibits his inimitable blend of hypnotic house and techno to perfection here. A subtly powerful, intricate percussive groove provides a rock-solid backbone for his ever-evolving layers of electronic wizardry, as the track steadily soars towards an otherworldly state of heavenly bliss.
