The A2 track 'Blambestrid' from S Olbricht's new album 'For Perfect Beings' on Lobster Theremin

Having broken the barrier for murky skewed house with his 2014 white label 'A Place Called Ballacid', Hungarian scene founder S Olbricht returns with a full album on Lobster Theremin that channels his distinct brand of thumping, sludgy techno, weaving through repetitive drone-laden ambient and Hague-esque escape soundtrack house.

'For Perfect Beings' is a sound-palette tour de force, picking 'n' mixing tempos and tonal balances that shift throughout each track and side of vinyl. Which strangely starts on a 12" LP slab and ends with a pseudo 'bonus' 10" two track experiment.

Openers 'Astrid' and 'Blambestid' form a pair of progressive chugging rollers; journey tracks from the interstellar void that shift and glisten and singe under the gamma rays of a neutron star, finally collapsing back in to the void.

'Fadaisco' meanwhile picks up the baton for breakneck Legowelt-ian techno and rightly adds another ten layers of intensity, building to a relentless, rapturous and revolution-inspiring euphoria.

There's a brief respite from the ongoing rebellion soundtrack, firstly in the form of 'Gesnaria', a short but stuttering drift into a shrouded lake of lucid memories. An alternative snippet of the Solaris soundtrack that perfectly blends ambiguous melodic elements with an ongoing confused emotional state.

'Rien' follows this pattern of low slung blurriness by taking a dragging mammoth low end and dredging it under looping and morphing samples that clatter and ascend to a more controlled climax that signals a transition to peace from the frantic madness that peppered the album's early tracks.

Stepping onto the conceptual physical 10" side of the album, containing the "fast" and "slow" versions of 'Ovacrwded', these two tracks bear more than a tempo difference. The fast version is birthed in the womb, with the emanating warmth of rumbling subs accompanied by heavily shelved and scuffed percussive artefacts. The slow version is a new beast entirely, latching a haunting, wandering high synth line to the throbbing, distorting mid and low range, that barely seem to separate throughout the entirety of the tracks, scrunched together in a cooperative analogue rhythm.

Raised on Talking Heads records, discovered on SoundCloud and one of the most exciting young DJs and production talents in house music today, 23-year-old Jordon Alexander, aka Mall Grab, has seemingly come from nowhere in the past year. Well, Australia.

The house hotshot has swept clubland with his dusty jams and rolling beats, derived from his love of classic house and hip hop. His sets are unpredictable and eclectic showcases of his musical taste and once you add to that some incredible mixing skill, you've got yourself a youngster who's got his sights on the big time, and there's nothing that can stop him.

The 36th release on Clubsonica Records welcomes Juan Deminicis to the label for his debut EP. As one of Argentina’s foremost electronic music talents Juan’s productions have been featured on both Lost & Found Records and Sudbeat Music. His deep and distinctive sound continues to be a favourite amongst the top DJs with Hernan Cattaneo and Guy J being two of his long time supporters. Now making his much anticipated first appearance on Clubsonica, Juan presents his new EP entitled 'Now Is Never' alongside remixes from Robert R. Hardy and East Cafe. 

Played out over nine magical minutes, the title and showcase piece 'Now Is Never' finds Juan exploring percussive grooves and emotive soundscapes. Contoured bass tones carry the RIPPLING foundation while waves of percussion and evolving atmospheres advance the narrative into the break. A story within a story, the two minute interlude ebbs and flows with swollen synths, astral sweeps and a delicate melodic theme, hitting impassioned chords before an energy bridge transitions into a poignant finale.

The companion piece 'Resurge' finds Juan collaborating with 'The Blackout'. The duo have previously worked together for Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank Records with excellent results and now come together once again for a stunning production. Smooth and emotive in equal measure, it sits as a perfect complement to the larger 'Now Is Never' as rolling drums and ethereal motifs highlight the journey.

The first interpretation of 'Resurge' is provided by Robert R. Hardy. The Hernan Cattaneo favourite now returns for his second remix putting his own unique twist on 'Resurge'. The main themes translate well here, from the buzzing groove to otherworldly motifs, albeit in a deeper, smoother and less distinct context. The chord changes become hugely emotive, particularly out of the break as free flowing melodies and haunting vocal refrains come together for a charming finale.

The second and final interpretation of 'Resurge' is provided by East Cafe. With a discography that now stretches ten plus years East Cafe has more than etched his place in progressive house history. As one of Hungary’s most revered talents his music has found its way into the sets of Hernan Cattaneo while appearing on a long list of esteemed imprints, most notably ICONYC, Manual Music, Proton Music, Soundteller Records and Stellar Fountain. The Hungarian's muscular grooves are undeniably powerful, rolling with dynamic percussion as electric synths and icy vocals blanket the framework. A short and timely break adds nicely to the story setting up a charged second act before one final break seals its emotional brilliance.

A landmark release for Clubsonica Records, elevating the Colombian imprint yet again as they combine three of progressive music's most inspiring talents.
