Here is my take on the new year's theme for 2023 , hopefully a funky & peaceful year !

No samples here except drums, I played all others instruments myself :

Strat, Les Paul, Jazzbass, rhodes, trumpet, clavinet.

2023 New year's Eve Theme - Dr Smooth vibes dance Remix

Here is a short one in the style of " the who " one of my favorite inspiration .

I was trying some arpeggios and once I had two tracks of it, it did sound a bit like Baba o Riley's intro , I couldn't resist recording those big ringing chords :)

I did use a old jazzbox ( Washburn Js6 - the one on the left on the pic) on a cranked Mojave and a telecaster - no synths and no post EQ on the mix - I prefer the raw sound of the KPA for this kind of track.

Sus4 chords at the end are done with the transpose FX that's why they sound so trebly and thin

PS : the Js6 has not a very precise intonation , sorry for the bit out of tune lead note :S

I just moved to a new house with a new big basement studio that I'm still building ATM.

this is my 1st mix in this new environment, so let me know any issue on your side, I've tested with monitoring headphones, it seems right to me.

This is a quick n dirty punk rocker, mainly to test my new home studio :)
