Isle 9 is a transcultural facilitator, bringing European and Pacific music cultures together. 

In August 2015, 25 Berlin acts went as a collective to Hawai'i to showcase their electronic music and to experience coming together creatively, surrounded by most inspirational natural beauty. 

The Isle 9 music label supports electronic music producers wishing to tell stories all over the world with their creative output. Please get in touch if you would like us to hear your work.

Unsere Nummer 96 kommt diese Woche von einem aufstrebenden Schweizer Künstler, der es innerhalb kürzester Zeit geschafft hat, sich auch über die deutschsprachigen Grenzen hinweg einen Namen zu machen.

Die Rede ist von Milo Häfliger. Einem Soundnomaden,  der mit seinen Sets stets die Orte des erlebbaren und nicht erlebbaren auslotet. Angereichert mit einer Fülle von Emotionen, lädt er jeden Einzelnen dazu ein, sich seine eigene Welt des Tanz- und Denkbaren zu erschaffen. 
Neben seinen zahlreichen und sinnerweiternden Sets, die ausnahmslos alle Spitze sind, orientiert er sich stilistisch an der traditionellen Musik der südlichen Hemisphäre, die mit Ihrem Arrangement perfekt dafür geeignet ist Gefühle entstehen und für jeden Einzelnen erfahrbar zu machen. Dabei bewegt er sich stets irgendwo zwischen Melancholie und Heiterkeit. Ein Bereichsspektrum in dem jeder seinen Platz finden wird. 

Seine Musik ist aber nicht nur für eine gemütliche Couchsession an einem verregneten Sonntag geeignet. Ganz im Gegenteil. Durch tiefe Bässe und teils treibender Rhythmik, sowie einem etwas höheren Tempo, ist seine Musik auch durchaus tanzbar, was seine zahlreichen Auftritte rund um den Globus belegen. 

Obwohl er erst seit kurzer Zeit dabei ist, konnte er im letzten Jahr bereits schon einige prestigereiche Gigs verzeichnen. Unter anderem bespielte er das Glücklich Festival in Zürich, das Nuba in Paris, das House of Yes in New York, sowie in Dubai, Griechenland, Belgien, Russland und und und. Bald steht sogar eine Indien-Tour an. Es läuft würde so mancher wohl sagen. 

Uns freut es sehr diesen aufstrebenden Künstler für unsere Reihe gewonnen zu haben, der es trotz seines immer voller werdenden Kalenders geschafft hat, ein wieder einmal ganz vorzügliches Set aufzunehmen. Die Aufnahme besticht vor allem durch seinen spannenden Aufbau und der permanent präsenten melancholischen Stimmung. Ein Gefühl, welches den europäischen Herbst perfekt einfängt und folglich jedem von uns Raum zum erforschen seiner Selbst gibt. 

Wir danken dir Milo für dieses herzerwärmende und hypnotisierende Set aus dem Bereich des Jenseits.

Somewhere, way up there in a galaxy far, far away, there was a boy floating around in space.
This boy’s head was filled with sounds so trippy, so unique and so melancholic - that when an idea came, it was unlike anything you’d ever heard before. The boy’s ears were filled with endless amounts of recycled stardust - so that whenever he put on his headphones to make music, everything he created sounded like heaven. And the boy’s mind was constantly buzzing with impulses - so that whenever he expressed himself, they came pouring out of him in the form of sublime music. To us, he is known as Ninze.
Ninze is multi-faceted, yet utterly recognisable in his style. Having first taken the music scene by storm with unique productions and famously slo-ow DJ sets alongside his 2nd half Okaxy, he has since evolved as a solo artist as well as a member of the production- and live performance trio Wide Awake. 
No matter what he does, you can always hear it: that distinct sound that makes your knees feel like jelly and your thoughts like cloudy shadows. It’s a vibe that transports you to a place in your mind, something in between diving into trippy underwater melancholia and shooting up into deep cosmic space.
It’s only fitting then that our next podcast is a live set recorded specially for the Urban Cosmic Universe. If you listen closely, you’ll notice the little shooting stars, pulling you deeper and deeper into a world you can lose yourself in with ease. 
So finally, to quote the man himself: “roll it up, light it up, press play”*

Exclusive Mix for Fairgound Festival 2017

After 99 editions at a total of 117 hours delivered by several producers and djs, there is no doubt that it has been a long worldwide journey before ending up in our 100th edition. On this special occasion, the German electronic producer Jacob Groening (@jacobgroening) closes up this first series "chapter". Casa Caos will make a little break and we will be back soon. 
  
On this 100th edition Jacob shows off his unique ways of communicating with an audience through an ah-mazing live session during his most recente US tour, on a sunny September afternoon in Miami. Initially planned to be a faster set that afternoon groove took him to a much slower pace. Somehow it became this fluffy set sprinkled with colorful tracks, including some of his friends’ most recents productions, his latest creations and a few of old favorites. Nothing more to say just play.

The Olmec culture was defined and unified by a specific art style. Crafted in a variety of materials—jade, clay, basalt, and greenstone, which is an archaeologist's term for carved, green-colored minerals—much Olmec art is naturalistic. Other art expresses fantastic anthropomorphic—human-shaped—creatures, often highly stylized, using an iconography reflective of a spiritual meaning. Common motifs include downturned mouths and cleft heads, both of which are seen in representations of were-jaguars and the rain deity.

Kontrollverlust

Kontrolle ist eine Illusion und ich kralle mich an ihr fest. Umklammere sie mit all meiner Kraft, doch muss sehenden Auges registrieren wie sie schwindet. Wie sie mir aus den Fingern gleitet, als würde ich beim Tauziehen auf der falschen Seite stehen. Langsam aber beständig schwebt dieses Konstrukt meines Verstandes zu Boden. Ich greife noch einmal nach. Gehe wehklagend in die Knie und halte die Luft an. Ich spüre, dass es sich um ein sinnloses Unterfangen handelt, doch ich kann nicht loslassen. Jede Zelle meines Körpers schreit mich an aufzugeben. Es einfach zu akzeptieren und zu beenden. Ich kann nicht mehr, halte dem Druck nicht länger stand und gebe Schlussendlich nach. Der Ohnmacht nahe, ergebe ich mich meinem Schicksal. 
Im ersten Moment geschieht nichts. Keine Schmerzen, keine Ängste oder Sorgen. Ich liege einfach nur da. Still und stumm lausche ich meinen Gedanken, bis der schier unendliche Storm versiegt. Dann kommt ein neues Gefühl in mir hoch. Frieden. Ich akzeptiere was ist und was war. Mit diesem Frieden kommt die Freiheit und Glückseligkeit breitet sich wie ein Lauffeuer in mir aus. 

Heute haben wir LENI zu Gast. Die Wahlleipzigerin ist noch relativ neu auf der Podcastwolke zugange, doch hat sich mit ihren ersten Sets bereits einen Namen, als talentierte und ambitionierte DJane gemacht. Mit ihren KataHaifisch Podcast bestätigt sie einmal mehr diese Einschätzung. Ihr Mix ist von Anfang bis Ende fesselnd. Sie präsentiert uns eine  reizende Mischung aus Downtempo und Organic House. Sanfte Vocals liebkosen mit fröhlichen Melodien. Treibende Basslines shakern ausgelassen mit Percussions. Wieder einmal handelt es sich um eine rundum runde Nummer.
