I wrote this for my best friend Mara. It is based on her favourite piece that I played when we were teens - the 1st of Chopin's Les Trois Nouvelles Études. Please forgive the sound quality of this recording as it was done on my iPhone!

Colaboration with Reneessance : @reneessance

This is my first collaboration on Soundcloud. SilvestroDice approached me and asked if he could remix one of my songs. There is something a bit scary about letting someone else play with your creations but after listening to his work with other SC musicians I was impressed with his skill…He's a very talented young man - only 18 and musically intuitive.
 
Believe is a piece that is both calming and uplifting. Although everyone connects with music in a different way, the essence of the music is to give you a sense of hope, to believe in whatever your dreams might be (big or small). I would love to hear comments directly on the tracks for both this collaboration and/or the solo versions about what BELIEVE means to you.

Believe (Feat SilvestroDice)- PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION

Do you ever stop an listen to the music of nature? This is a song I improvised after I being away for a bit. A bluejay perched on the lowest branch of the tree next to me sang me the motif that you will hear repeated in this song. It felt like he gave me a little gift so I felt I needed to honour his contribution by improvising on his little theme.
The volume is a bit loud in this recording and I recorded it on my iPhone…it's a work in progress. ;)

I hope the birds inspire you today too!

01 Rose Coloured Glasses

I improvised this on a cloudy November day last year. It was recorded on my iPhone.

I wrote this years ago...with several parts and lost it on my computer. I tried to reproduce it using only the piano this time. Maybe I'll add more instrumentation later. The ostinato is reminiscent of my Mike Oldfield days...
I'm currently arranging a cello part to go this this.
