Born in the dark streets of Cairo, grown to the unforgettable forests of Santa Esmeralda, spending its teen years in Bombay and Tangier markets, mature into the deep spacey Jungle of Ghana we proudly present you a new label from the land of the pyramids: SHANGO RECORDS invites you to an unheard world music psychedelic trip: like through a colorful kaleidoscope we will melt down Indian and Pakistani Vibes, Arab-Tek and Oriental groovy vibes, Afro-Beat rhythms n' pieces, Cumbia Tropicana flavors and cosmic Ghetto-Latin vibes into forbidden sounds of frenzied electronic dancefloor rituals. Outside traditional paths these driving grooves and polyphonic structures take the adventure seeking dancer to Dionysian highs and places never been before.

She stood by the window as the stars began to poke holes in the deep blue velvet sky. The days without him had passed slowly, and the evenings even slower. She wondered how the silver goldfish could remain calm in the bowl, while she himself felt she could barely breathe. As the night air touched her face, she thought of him, bit her lip, and sighed. Her eyes closed as she willed her tears to stop forming. When she opened her eyes, he was standing next to her. 
“I know,” he said to her, and he placed his hand over hers. “It is hard to wait,” she said. “Yes,” he said, “we are like the dragon waiting for a sign of his pearl.” “The dragon waiting?” she asked. “Oh, nothing,” he said. “It’s just a story.” The wind blew gently, like the calming touch of a healer. Tolga Maktay is the rising sun after the dark end of a sleepless night. This is his first offering for Shango Records. These two tracks can give you light and good feelings. Abacilar, Kumara (PA) and Cedro tell you stories about isolation and morning calmness.

The Tremulant label returns with a stunning collaboration between Diana Ratsamee, a Seattle-based DJ, musician and curator known for the eclectic taste displayed on her Eastern Echoes radio show on KEXP and label boss Joe Bellingham. Oil In The Water is an expressive mid-tempo indie-electronic composition with exotic instrumentation from Joe and impassioned vocals by Diana. Layers of guitar and synth pads create a lush and psychedelic sound pool that'll lend a heavy atmosphere wherever the track is played. Also featured on the track is Paul Gafni, a frequent collaborator with Joe, who will helm the next label release.  A remix by Tremulant's monotropa. builds on the original's melodic flavor, adding an ominous bass growl and a techier vibe. Rascal Rae is next, with a version propelling the sound through a live-sounding breakbeat and shimmering synthesizer textures. Closing the release is a remix by Niki Sadeki (Quetame Records), who twists and turns "Oil In The Water" into a deep, techno-inspired cruiser, ready-made for dark and smokey dancefloors. Tremulant delivers again.

In the Tirio Indian village of Kwamala (Suriname), deep in the Amazon rain forest, Kamanya lay in his hammock, burning with fever. His mother sat nearby fanning him. “Kamanya, Kamanya,” she whispered, but he did not answer. She spoke gently to her husband. “It is time. Take him.” He picked up the boy and carried him to the hut of the shaman—the medicine man. Softly chanting, the shaman Nahtahlah disappeared into the forest. The returned with leaves, roots, and bark, which he put into a pot of water boiling on the fire. Stirring and singing, he asked the sickness to leave the boy. Then Nahtahlah removed the pot from the fire, and when the mixture had cooled he lifted Kamanya’s head and poured the warm medicine into the boy’s mouth. The shaman’s song ended as night came. Kamanya’s parents sat beside him until morning. When the boy awoke, the fever was gone. As the years passed, Kamanya would remember the shaman’s ritual as if it were all a dream. But he never forgot that the shaman saved his life.

Reno grew up surrounded by music as the son of South African Country Rock icon Brian Finch. While his father’s guitar inspired him, Reno found his own path in the early '90s EDM scene at Deviate in Cape Town. Discovering the Technics 1210s marked the beginning of his DJing journey, which he further developed after moving to London in 1999. While his corporate career took priority, music remained a passionate hobby, and his occasional DJ sets showcased his versatile talent.
A turning point came when Reno explored music production, diving into tools like Fruity Loops, Cubase, Reason, and ultimately mastering Ableton Live. Now, Reno spends his free time crafting tracks in his studio.
As a DJ, Reno blends genres seamlessly, moving from melodic downtempo to Afro, deep house, and driving techno. His sets reflect his unique ability to curate captivating musical journeys, embodying his love for sound and evolution as an artist.
