New release coming soon on Cosmic Wave Records from a close friend of the label, Mersel. Based in Paris and focusing on modular synthesizers, he has been producing great work these past years balancing between techno and deep techno.

For this EP, he was inspired by his last trip to Tokyo, and more specifically Shibuya ward. He describes it as a city of contrast, balanced between the speed of crowded streets like crossing avenue and more peaceful places. The EP starts with "Donqi Preps", a slow and organic tribal beat layered by moving atmospheres. Then comes "Chy", more deep techno approach where the synths lead the track from beginning to end with a great evolution and wide spatialization. The third track "Clock Signal" shows the rawer and more techno side of Mersel’s project, this track refers to the speedy and crowded side of Tokyo city. The last track "Donqi" carries on this dark and cycling vibe driven by a strong kick and groovy rhythms.

With this fifth release from Mersel, the label show its independence and unique style exploring the thin path between techno and atmospheric music.

From the need to contribute and relieve a little the social and economic problem that is currently being experienced in the country due to the emergency of COVID-19, From a Lost Place has brought together local and international artists who have joined the cause to, through music, try to help the most vulnerable. 100% of the money raised on Bandcamp will be donated in two parts: One for Santa Cruz del Islote, an artificial island located in the San Bernardo archipelago (Colombia) and considered one of the most populated islands in the world, which It sustains itself economically through tourism and now finds itself with a lack of food and medicine supplies. The other part will go to the Fundación Rediseñándonos, located in Bogotá and whose initiative is the reintegration of vulnerable people and street dwellers through weaving and clothing. Right now and due to the current situation, this home needs to stock up on food and raw materials to continue working for those who need it.

A partir de la necesidad de contribuir y aliviar un poco el problema social y económico que se está viviendo actualmente en Colombia debido a la emergencia del COVID-19, From a Lost Place ha reunido artistas locales e internacionales que se han sumado a la causa para, a través de la música, tratar de ayudar a los más vulnerables. El 100% del dinero recaudado en Bandcamp será donado en dos partes: Una para Santa Cruz del Islote, una isla artificial ubicada en el archipiélago de San Bernardo y considerada una de las islas más pobladas del mundo, la cual se sostiene económicamente por el turismo y ahora se encuentra con falta de abastecimiento de comida y medicamentos. La otra parte se destinará a la Fundación Rediseñándonos, ubicada en Bogotá (COL) y que tiene como iniciativa la reinserción de personas vulnerables y habitantes de calle por medio del tejido y la confección. Ahora mismo y debido a la situación actual, este hogar necesita abastecerse de alimentos y materia prima para continuar trabajando en pro de quienes lo necesitan.

Turkish producer and dj Can, aka @lzmccan,  is the persona behind theysleepwegrind (TSWG Records); A monthly party held at minimuzikhol between the season 2015-17 in Istanbul that harbored ''many rhythms under one flag’’. Each gathering named unique, conceptual in episodes now continues with illegal rave style in Auto Industrial part of Istanbul as MC Gathering (Motor City Gathering). In addition to these operations in Istanbul, TSWG spread to Amsterdam in summer season 2018 at Canvas as TSWG (AMS). Last year the label circle round up and put out his first six-track MPC casual, ghetto tuned EP on 12’’. He also hosts two monthly radio shows. One at n10.as from Montreal since 2017 and the other at Year Zero from Istanbul that started recently. One show focuses more on sunset sunrise ST, musical journey, a trip for treat, the other focuses on the dance floor’s heavy weights, ghetto myths, rhythmic invasion, whats attitude in music, boogie phone calls and whatnot.

We now leave the stage to Can, an aficionado and lover of underground music landscape as he operates sound waves between anything acid, detroit, break beat and bass music.

RENU (Renu Hossain) is a British-Bengali, London & Berlin based artist. She is a composer, producer, tabla-player, percussionist and music curator. Originally a percussionist for – Grace Jones, State of Bengal, Fun_da_mental, MIKA, Alabama 3 and Tunde Jegede. Learning from percussion Masters in India, Brazil and Cuba, composing for theatre, film & dance & hosting her own nights in London & Berlin. 

RENU released ‘They Dance in the Dark’ late 2017 to critical acclaim.  Her album has been lionised by The Quietus, Art Forum Magazine (Top 10 album of the year), BBC Radio 6 & BBC Late Junction.

For 20 years  RENU has been studying percussion with Masters from India, Cuba, Spain & Brasil. RENU is a tabla disciple of Sri Chiranjit Mukherjee (senior disciple of Kumar Bose) following the classic way of learning – ‘Guru shisha parampara’ which translates to ‘Master student journey’.

Currently RENU has just released an avant garde, experimental album - ‘The Happening’ aptly released at this time of Covid 19.

Here comes the fourth release by Almería-based electronica artist Mynationshit titled ‘The Tycoon’. This is another addition to the independent label ‘Waste Editions’, run by Mynationshit’s frontman Carlos Martín along with his brother Ale. 

This record highlights Martin’s latest musical touches. Its melancholic undertones juxtaposed with humble romanticism will inspire you. Indubitably, this Spanish artist’s distinguishable nature mixes 
elements of Electro, Dark Wave, Synth-Pop and Post-Punk. 

Picture Johnny Cash and Peter Murphy singing catchy tunes to each other while on a cosmic journey to an unknown planet where synths and prose accompany their melodies.

Mynationshit - The Tycoon

LNDN & BRLN based RENU started her musical journey around 2000. Her quest for musical experiences have taken her on solo trips to INDIA for the Tabla, CUBA for Latin percussion, BRAZIL for candomble and SPAIN for Flamenco music.

Originally a percussionist for multiple bands & genres – Grace Jones etc.  RENU started to write, compose & produce her own music in the year of 2010.

Fast forward some years, composing for theatre, film & dance, hosting her own nights in London, 1 EP and 3 albums later, she has now landed in an electronic realm. In Berlin and a fourth album to be released in September 2017 - THEY DANCE IN THE DARK.

THEY DANCE IN TNE DARK is released through RENU´s label – Holykuti Records.

Imagine a party, where Gary Numan is married to The Orb, who is slow dancing with Massive Attack, while Oum Kalthoum is French kissing Prince and finally, Daphne Oram is mixing the drinks.

Two years on and off in the Holykuti Studios, produced in London, Berlin & Beirut with singers & performers from Ireland, Iraq, Pakistan, UK & Lebanon, They Dance in the Dark first started as an experiment. Realising her true introvertism RENU worked through mainly the computer and the philosophy of playing Tablas in mind: creating big & infinite sounds with a minimum set up.

They Dance in the Dark largely references 80’s & 90’s electronic dance music. The height of hooky, dark electronic anthems with an underlying post-colonial narrative.

RENU music is increasingly becoming ever more experimental.

They Dance in The Dark is RENUs personal imprint as a weird queer femme in a weird queer world.
