It's no surprise that I've been procrastinating. To get out of this funk, I'm trying to put together little song sketches, crawling back up to music making competency.

sketch #1: Lily

Folding Time is the second full length album from Machinedrum and Braille aka Sepalcure's for Scuba's Hotflush imprint. Fusions of footwork, dub, broken beat and futuristic pop all lay in wait, effortlessly fused together by intricate percussion and perfectly placed melodies.

The album, is comprised of a selection of brand new tracks and selection of revived tracks that have been brought out from the studio vaults. “Folding Time was an exercise in connecting the dots between our past and the present, ” the pair tell i-D, “it felt like we were connecting the present with the past. Going through each session was like digging through old memories.”

When my team and I were thinking of artists to hit up for remixes, we wanted to have a collection of remixes that would truly change the way the original tracks felt and sounded.   For this reason, @machinedrum was someone who was at the top of our list from the start.  I always thought his music, especially his remixes (his Eyesdown remix of Bonobo is so good), pushed the comfortable boundaries of genres while still somehow staying within reach of a more mainstream electronic music listener.  Travis’ creative, eclectic and hard-hitting take on Satisfied is everything I could’ve hoped for, and its out just in time for festival season :)
