Sonek – Hit the Floor EP (Coming exclusively to Juno 3rd December)

After a couple of successful collabs with Funkinright, it’s time for Sonek to stretch his legs, and release his debut BBP EP. And he doesn’t disappoint. 

Kicking it all off is the lead track, ‘Hit the Floor’. This is a heavy hitter, dropping with some sweeping basses, and tucking a subtle funky guitar, synths and vocal stabs nicely behind to bring it all to life. 

Simplicity is the key for the next track, and it packs a punch. ‘Thinking about you’ , starts nice and chilled, with a smooth synth, building up with the main vocal and dropping into a banging beat, accompanied with a bassline that brings a bit of screwface with it. 

‘Ain’t it Funky’, gets down and dirty, with its’ super funky guitar stabs, gritty bass, and a drum groove the greats of funk would be proud of.  

Rounding it all off is ‘Got the Wildstyle’. Sonek brings the tempo a but down, but keeps it big and beefy, with some serious kicks and snares, wild horns, cut-up vocals, and a drop to make you feel that bass. 

All-in-all, if you like your funky beats beefed up and bassy, this is the release for you.
