I am a singer/songwriter from Newry who has been singing and performing for most of my adult life. When Covid hit it was hard to write music that was upbeat and happy. We were being bombarded with sadness every day on the news. In October, peoples thoughts started leaning towards Christmas, and how Covid might get in the way. This is where the title of the song came from, it was my response to anything Covid related at Christmas. The song is upbeat with a very catchy hook, the music is driven by melodic electric guitars and is held together with a swug drum beat. There is a flair of Christmas throughout with the sound of bells that remind you what time of year it is mixed with overlays of string. The song is layered with some beautiful vocal harmonies, good humour, emotion and heart. It delivers a message of taking care of each other, staying safe, never be alone and togetherness. I don't want to hear about Covid at Christmas time is an antem that is guaranteed to have everyone singing along.
