As the hype, schedule and promotional campaign for Toronto Is Broken’s forthcoming, genre-nullifying third album begins to ramp up and skyrocket, we’ve been treated to a real humdinger in the form of a new remix from the expressive, aggressive sonic minds of the exciting, upcoming SyRan duo. Taking the form of  the third single on the highly-promising, imminent ‘Clare’ album, the original cut saw YANA Music head-honcho Toronto Is Broken link up with with the emotive, illustrious singer/producer duo Deuce & Charger for a multi-faceted, wholly unique hybrid of Metalcore and Drum & Bass; a high-octane combination that we’re definitely keen to hear more of.

Then, in come SyRan. The gritty Peterborough-based pairing have seen a stratospheric rise as of late, implementing and showcasing a heralded style of impaling, cataclysmic Jungle-influenced 174 that has been tearing off heads left, right and centre. A permanent fixture in the sets of Andy C and many more, SyRan were quickly picked up by Andy’s legendary RAM Records imprint, first for 2019’s ‘Paradigm’ EP and then two widely-supported singles - ‘Telepathy’ and ‘For You’, which both dropped this year to great critical reception. 

All in all, this is a cracking, seminal meeting of three different sets of artistic qualities, but one that still moulds together perfectly, blending SyRan’s vintage-yet-modern Breakbeat aesthetics and droning, longitudinal bassweight movements with Toronto Is Broken and Deuce & Charger’s copiously brilliant original lick.
